Adams or McCaffrey.

My immediate thought is you gotta go Adams, right?

But then my brain kicks in and tells me that they've been spending and building like hell on defense for years, even up to this offseason's free agent signings.

So you gotta go offense at #8, right?

Man, this draft is fun.  :P

If Adams is there, Gettleman sprints to the podium with his card.. Tears his ACL and has a heart attack

I think Adams falls into the very Late 1st

I don't know if he will fall to the back end of the first but I definitely think he could.

Adams is one of the best box safety prospects to come out in years.

The problem is that box safeties have been marginalised by the NFL's evolution towards a passing league.  In some ways they are the RB of the modern defense.

I can definitely see an old school GM like Gettleman drafting a box safety early.  Then again, he's consistently placed very little emphasis on the position in free agency.  This is also a very deep draft for SS.

We need a robber Safety that can play the run as well

4.115  SS: KAI NACUA | 6'-2" 211 LBS

PFF #8:  Kai Nacua (BYU)

BYU has quietly been a pipeline for some impressive defensive players over the years. Ezkiel Ansah standing out among the most recent. There’s a good chance Kai Nacua will be the next one on that list. In a loaded safety class, he’s been a name that continues to fly under the radar. That’s incredible to think about given his 6’2″ size and hard-to-miss speed on the field. Oh, and there is also the 12 interceptions he’s produced over the past two years.

Nacua is a robber in the passing game. Quarterbacks are wise to know where he’s lined up on every snap because if they lose track of him, he tends to make them pay with a turnover. That being said, Nacua doesn’t shirk his other duties. He’s a reliable tackler who played a little linebacker at times and shows the capacity to blitz. His instincts are tailor made for the position. He’ll have to prove it against better QBs though.

Ahh yeahhh!!!  Now we're getting to the real pre-draft drama!!!!

If Cleveland were to trade up for a QB, then someone is calling the rest of the top 5.  This could be very interesting.

I think Cleveland is honestly trying to stir the pot.  See who jumps.  This is part of the great poker game that happens in the run up to draft night.

Someone will jump up into the top 5 for a QB.  It could make our pick EXTREMELY valuable.  While this is a thin draft for QB talent, these guys have the tools if you can be patient.  What do they say, until you have a franchise QB, you're always looking for one.  Something like that.

I love it!
