Report: Cleveland Browns Attempting To Trade Pick 12 For Jets Pick 6

An interesting development. A scenario where the Browns trade up would allow for more QBs to go ahead. If the Browns were to trade with the Jets successfully, the Browns would undoubtedly go for Tribusky if he's available. With the Bears showing unusual interest in Kizer with 4 reported total visits, the Browns are likely considering their odds with landing Trubisky is best if they trade up.

The Cleveland Browns have approached the New York Jets about a potential trade in the first-round according to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.

The Browns would receive the No. 6 overall selection. The Jets would receive the No. 12 overall selection and additional picks. New York is seeking the No. 33 overall selection in return. It is believed that the Browns would target a quarterback. Based on the Harvard Trade Value Chart, the difference between the No. 6 and No. 12 overall picks is roughly a fifth-round choice.

North Carolina's Mitch Trubisky would likely be the choice based on reports.

The Jets have been tied to a quarterback. The team to watch for Trubisky has always been the Buffalo Bills, however. The Bills select at No. 10.

ESPN's Todd McShay is not confident that a deal will get done.

"I wouldn’t be overly confident if I were a Jets fan that I’d be able to get a deal to move back," McShay said Tuesday.

Trubisky completed 304-of-446 passes for 3,748 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions last season. He added five rushing touchdowns as well.

The idea that Cleveland is attempting to trade up in order to select a quarterback suggests they've reached a decision to take Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall choice.

This would likely lay to rest the belief Garrett isn't going first overall - destroying any reason for us to trade up - and that QBs are likely to go ahead of us.

Good news for Panther fans.

Trading for #6 before you even know who's on the board there would be the most Cleveland Browns move ever.

If that trade went through, I'm calling Buffalo immediately if I'm the Titans sitting there with #5.

"So... you saw what just went down, right? How bad do y'all want Trubisky?"

Alright so if this happened...

Browns - Garrett

Niners - Thomas

Bears - Kizer or Watson

Jags - Fournette

Titans - ???

Browns - Trubisky

Chargers - ???

Well neither the Titans or Chargers are taking Jamal Adams...so there's that...

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Titans go Allen and the Chargers go Adams/Hooker.

It is a really tough draft to predict. I can totally see Adams being there for us....the question is, do we pull the trigger on him?

Adams or McCaffrey.

My immediate thought is you gotta go Adams, right?

But then my brain kicks in and tells me that they've been spending and building like hell on defense for years, even up to this offseason's free agent signings.

So you gotta go offense at #8, right?

Man, this draft is fun.  :P

I'm in the same conundrum. Adams seems to be a can't miss player and a future All-Pro..

But at some point, we need to infuse some young talent on the offensive side of the ball.
