Some other great ones that haven't been mentioned:

Sam Mills shovel pass pick-6 vs. the Jets that kind of sealed the first team win

Chad Cota pick in the end zone where he had to wrestle it away from the receiver vs. Steelers in '96 for the first division title

Beuerlein QB draw vs. the Packers in Lambeau for their first home loss in Dec. in over 9 years

Proehl TD catch to beat the Jags in Jake's debut

Other than the Superbowl year, here is what I can remember as truly great plays....

1. In 2004, Julius Peppers intercepted the pass against the Broncos and almost ran it back 100 yards for a touchdown in MILE HIGH Stadium...I just wish he would show the same drive that he did back in the day

2. 2007-Against the Texans, Steve Smith caught the pass and was almost tackled by the whole Texans team, but still avoided all that mess and went for 70 yards for the touchdown

Those two! Outside of 2003 of course. :)

At about the 2:50 mark when they're in the locker room, I noticed a #51 under Peppers' jersey. Was that a Mills reference or just a coincidence? And at 3:15 the TD to Moose, I think that was what Jake was hoping he'd do on MNF, yes?

I think the pick that Manning got from Holt has to be up there too. I mean, if that just goes as an incompletion, they probably kick a field goal and Smitty never has X-Clown.

Edit: Saw at the end they actually wore #58 and #52 under their jerseys. Must've been for Fields and Mills, as I think they were bith going through it at that time. So NVM.

Yeah, that was the "Keep Poundin'" year where they were wearing white shirts with #58 and #51 on the front under all their jerseys.

The slogans for that year were "Keep Poundin'" and "Never Lose The Feeling," heh...

x clown has to be the winner. Put the Panthers in the SB and provided one of the true joys of my life.

Second to that for me is the Sam Mills TD return vs. the Jets to bring Carolina their first ever W in the NFL. I will never forget that play and how excited I was to finally have NFL football in the carolinas

    • Holy poo. What a damn play.
    • I remember a really weird pregame moment with him back in I think 2005 or so... Coming back from a commercial, before the guys were even on camera, Curt Menefee did a voice over where he talked about an "inside scoop" from Bradshaw. He said Jake Delhomme was not only gonna be benched, but likely cut. It finished with "Jake Delhomme has started his last game for the Carolina Panthers". And then not another word about it. The way they handled it - giving it only a passing mention then ignoring it - I think Fox thought it was bullsh-t. It felt like they didn't want to broadcast it but Bradshaw pushed until they did. And obviously, it was bullsh-t. Bradshaw has since left the inside scoopage to Jay Glazer...as he should.
