Qwest Field: Loudest field in the NFL?

Watching the game Sunday, I commented more than once to my buddies about how fuggen loud the stadium was and how non-stop the loudness was. It wasn't just at key moments, the crowd brought the noise throughout (even louder than the Broncos, Fireball!). Well, I read the following from Ogunleye today,

Ogunleye said after the game that he felt that Qwest Field is five times louder than any other NFL stadium.

and elsewhere,

Seattle is by far one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. The Bears haven't won a game in Seattle in a very long time. Credit to the Seahawks and their fans. They gave us their best effort.

That is the loudest stadium I have ever been in. You could hardly hear yourself think.

So, what do y'all think? I've not yet been to Qwest- I went to the old King Dome (gah, what a dump that place was) back in the 90's. Is it the loudest field in the NFL? Further, does that give Seattle one of the most formidable homefield advantages? I'll give you that places like Chicago, Green Bay, New England, Buffalo, etc have a likelihood for advantage due to weather, but weather is unpredictable, inconsistent and can just as often work against both teams (Miami on MNF, I think, a few years ago during the monsoon comes to mind). Fans like that can be counted on...

Your thoughts?

we might not have the history of some franchises...but that place is fuggen loud!!!

Hawk, where were ya? I stopped by King street around 10:30-11:00 and even asked the doorman where you were he said you were in there but I couldn't find you, you must've been sitting in the corner or lying down. 6'7" and I missed ya WTF?

It's partly the architecture accompanied by sea level air and very, very passionette fans. The place is built like two big speakers facing eachother, way fuging loud. I honestly don't know how the Bears even heard the snap count(3 false starts was minimal compared to the 35 they should've had....unreal noise!) it was eerily quiet after that last defensive start.

Actually it was silenced in January 2008 - for good.

IDK how loud Lucas is - since they played both games in SD last year.

Forgot the name of the new place and was too lazy to look it up

I don't think it's technically been proven that the Colts pipe in extra crowd noise, but ya know... :sosp:

definitely designed for loud, yup...and it works! Everytime there is a false start on the opposition, they post the new number on the scoreboard and the place seemingly gets even louder.

And Darth...I was there, but I was in and out too.....NFL Canada had a tailgate going on up the street that I had a pass for and Mack Strong also had a tailgate in the north lot.
