Yes but if he was having a pro-bowl year he might be worth that 19 million. He would have to put up 60+ Tackles and 18+ sacks for him to be even close to being worth that.

By "blow up" do you mean "try"?

He wants out and he'll get the door soon enough. I wouldn't be surprised if has a good year earning a long-term contract elsewhere. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's just as awful elsewhere, and we can pencil him in as one of the great wastes of natural athletic ability.

If the case were "Peppers is not trying" then yes you would be correct. However, this is a case of "Peppers is just done". You are correct in that he will go somewhere else and get a modest one-year deal. The problem is that he'll fade out there too and his career will be over.
