To my recollection the dude blocked two FG/EP attempts with limited snaps. Can't remember the last time we did that during a season and the kid was a rookie. Wasn't a sexy pick but it was an intelligent one as it stands for now.

Dudes not a bust but I'm also not going to stand here and defend drafting a rotational player in the 1st round. Spin it how you want but this argument can be made for Shaq Thompson as well. Still good picks just not ideal for OUR team at the time

Shaq is a great player to have. TD likely hangs it up after this year or next. The drop-off will be minimal (if at all)

Also I think it's on our coaching staff for not getting the most out of Shaq. Maybe Wilks can get him more involved. He made strides last year.

Shaq was a better pick since we wanted to go to base and play 3 LBs at the same time.

We should have went with Hunter Henry instead, I bet Cam would be a lot healthier and we would have beaten the Broncos in the opner.

This was the entire point I was trying to get across. Obviously didn't come off that way based on the response haha. But I always thought that pick was made based on Gman letting KK walk. If I knew he would pay him as a top 5 DT, logic would say find skill at another position that is more needed in the immediate future.

He is, but did we really need to draft TD's replacement 3 years in advance ? Shaq doesn't see enough snaps imo currently(he did last year due to the Luke injury)

Yeah I don't know who to blame for Shaq's lack of snaps. But you may be correct on the Henry part but who knows

Yeah I see what you mean, I was under the assumption that butler was drafted for kk short insurance, just in case another Norman situation were to happen. Also to allow us to sign back out guards and star but apparently not. People get so stuck on rotation and keeping the d line fresh, but it doesn't matter if you corners can cover, and you safety's can't tackle....also doesn't matter if your offense can't score points. Pick could have been use to help other positions of need, not bitching about the pick that's just being real
