this is why i keep saying we have the NFL by the balls with this pick. we are gonna pick a stud no matter who is left. even if an NFC South team finds a way to leapfrog us to pick a player they think we want, we are still gonna end up laughing in their face when we pick another potential pro-bowl out of the stock thats gonna be there at 8.

its also why i flip poo when people suggest trading down. i would honestly rather us trade up than down from #8

I'd be just fine trading down to stay inside 10-15 and getting more picks. You're rolling the dice on all these guys, might as well wheel and deal with GM's that HAVE to have some guy and will give away the farm to move up 5 spots.

I mean, I get it. The potential for Jamal Adams is there. He'll likely be a rotational piece if he can get his act together between Mike Adams and himself. He'll likely make some impact plays, and could very well be one of the best in the later years.

His tape just shows another overrated LSU player that isn't who he's hyped up to be. Hell, I fell for the same trick back in January assuming he's a true out-of-the-world prospect, but he needs some fine-tuning.

Could I bite my own words and he turns into a stud? The potential is there, and I will. Will I have low expectations if he's the pick? You bet I will.

He's an intriguing prospect, and his tape does show a player with potential, but the absolute need to work on some things to live up to his draft hype is present.

I respect your draft work and all the threads on scouting etc.

Having watched 0 game film at all, I am confident that Adams is a future All-Pro and should be picked at #8 if he makes it that far.

I'd say based on what we have been hearing and the interest shown by the team, that the choice will almost certainly come down to Fournette, Howard, or McCaffrey...barring a trade obviously.  Thomas, Adams, and Garrett most likely will be gone by 8.  So, from most accounts, these are the highest rated players on our board that have a good chance of being available.

I believe the team prefers to go offense in the 1st, with only Thomas and Adams as possible interlopers on defense(assuming Garrett goes #1).  But there is a very low probability that those guys will be there at #8.

I think it is clear that Fournette is their #1 guy, but there is a 50/50 chance that he'll be there.  Don't assume he's a lock for Jacksonville, they still have a big need on defense for a S opposite Church, and DT to pair with Jackson.  And I've heard they REALLY LOVE Adams and both Allen and Thomas, so, I think there is just as much a chance they take one of them, if available, as Fournette.

Just going off what Igo said, Howard probably has a slight edge on McCaffrey, but that was a while ago, and they could have flipped them since he last got word of their preference.

Bottom line, barring a trade, I think either Leonard Fournette, OJ Howard, or Christian McCaffrey will be a Panther when we go to bed on 4/27.
