Opinion: with Short signed, WR time in this draft

Dare i say de can hold off until next year ? But serious note I would take a hard look at cooper kupp,
looks like everything we wanted bersin to be. Can be had in later rounds as well.

WR at 8 would require Thomas,Adams,Fournette, Hooker, Garrett, and lattimore to be off the board. In that case I'd consider taking davis, Williams, and my personal favorite Ross. Then turnaround and draft Goodwin or Henderson in the 2nd. Or just get cooper kupp in the 3rd or 4th.

No. Honestly, if you look at our WR visits, I'm thinking we like one in the 2nd. Even Ross has been bandied around in the late 1st, so maybe 40. I don't think we have seen any indication that we are considering a WR at 8. We've had visits/workouts with Chris Godwin, Zay Jones, John Ross and Curtis Samuel. The other WRs we've visited with are late rounders.

That's what I'd gathered as well. Just wondering if there is a significant drop off talent wise from the first to the second...it doesn't seem like there is.

I am hoping we go WR with our second.

What is the drop off between a guy like Jon Ross and a guy like Zaye Jones or Chris Godwin.

Is the WR talent drop off for WR more significant than say DE or S?

Personally I think the only DE's worth pick 8 (Garrett and Thomas) and both seem likely to be gone. Only one left in play that I could see would be Barnett.

Even with that being said history shows a bigger run on DE'S,CB'S AND WR'S between 8 and 40.

Quick summary on averages since 2011.

6 Edge rushers typically go in to 39

5 corners go in top 39

4 WR's go in top 39

2 Safties go in top 39

No WR worth the 8 pick

I could see an add'l TE like Howard waaaay before another WR.  We don't run the fun n gun offense guys

Right now our WR corps consists of KB, a former 2nd round bust, a special teams FA acquisition, and a flier of a FA acquisition. We have a WR corps built to run a wing T.

I have no idea about when, but I expect RB, WR, TE, and DE to be drafted.

with a CB and Safety to round it out...looks like a good DE will be most challenging pick.. we need to upgrade at DE not just bring in more of the same...

We are obviously going with big WR's with huge catching radius.  Let Ginn and Philly move on, so we did not value them that greatly.  In a trade down, I could see Davis or Williams, maybe

And OT (we've met with tons) and maybe S if the right one is there when we pick.  I expect us to end up with 5 or 6 picks.

this is why  Ross at 8 wouldn't hurt my feelings unless Thomas was available...with Ross we could live without a Fournette for now...
