Opinion: with Short signed, WR time in this draft

I'm not thrilled with the guys we have brought in for visits/workouts. I think they are targeting WRs in with one of their 2nd round picks. Based on who we brought in that basically means Chris Godwin, Zay Jones, and Carlos Henderson. Everyone else is basically projected in the late round or UDFA.

 

 

I know. Sadly it looks like the coaches are putting all their money on Funchess and KB to be a good #1 and 2. Good luck with that.

If Fournette isn't there we shoudl get OJ Howard who is capable WR but also improves the running game.

Well, he is not who I'd pick @ 8 but I could live with it. Overrated?He isn't perfect but he is as complete of a TE that has came out in a while. I also see the upside. As far as tentative... I wouldn't Jimmy Graham him quite yet. 

If we could come out of this draft with one of the top two LSU prospects ...I'm happy.

If I were GM I'd draft Ross @ 8 and Henderson @ 40.

we need a DE---to develop and rotate in.  We have 3 above 30.

I still think a Basham, Hendrickson, or Rivers type pick could be a smart one for us.  

However, I am really hoping we come away with one of the following:

Chris Godwin

Zay Jones

Taywan Taylor 

Carlos Henderson

Defensive end is arguably our biggest need. The position is also the highest positional value besides QB. 

So defensive end is definitely still in play, and nobody should be shocked should we draft one @ 8. 

I'd be less surprised with a DE, over any other position.
