It just seems to me the Panthers are considering both trading up or down.  I think they feel that #8 is where the QBs will start looking attractive, so the Jets, Browns, 49ers, Bills, and maybe the Cards come into play.  I may have missed a team or two, but you get the idea.

I hope trading down isn't completely off the table. I know Dave has been quite open talking about his disdain for trading down in the past, but if all of our top targets are gone and somebody is willing to make a sweet deal we should at the very least be willing to listen. Don't run that card to the podium like it's on fire unless it's for one of our very top targets.

Howard is a once in a generation TE IMO he is Tier 1 also.  Whether we choose him or not I'd put money someone will post in 5 years.   "Yeah and we pick so-in-so and Howard was on the board.  How great it would be if him and Cam were playing together"

He ain't no fuggin generational TE; he's definitely far from it.
