RIP Maggie

My dog.  She was a rescue...dalmatian mix. Got her when she was about 1 1/2 yrs old. Had her for about 10. Had a  rare untreatable cranial bone tumor. I had been sleeping with her on the sofa the last couple of weeks.  Thought I would have to put her down.  Daily decision but I knew the end was near for her with quality of life vs distress. As long as she was eating, in no obvious pain, getting around some, and enjoyed my company, i.e. petting...we were hanging on.  Last night, I thought today might be the day.  Then she rallied a bit.  Something woke me in the middle of the night. She was in a deep sleep (and irregular breathing)  and then died.  She was laying on the blanket she loved on the sofa she loved with me petting her.

She was a good girl. It took me a while but I buried her where she could look over the property she loved to roam and the house that was her home.

She is survived by her friend Max (a terrier mix) ..one cat Annie....and her loving owner.

Maggie was lucky you rescued her and I'm sure you feel lucky she rescued you as well.

Thank you for being there. She could not have had it any better.

My sincere sympathies. I just lost my rescue dog of 10 years this past January. I still haven't recovered from it. I get home and I expect her to be there.

I'm sorry :(

You are both very kind. Thank you.  PF I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss.. Both of my dogs are over 11 and they're starting to have health problems.. I know the end is near, but I hope they live as long as they can.

Thanks. I hope you and your dogs get many more good years together.
