Can't hurt. They did just sign Logan Ryan to a 3 year/30 Million with 12Million guaranteed deal. They saved 7 million by cutting him and waited this long to do it, so it was likely motivated by the combination of cap savings and confidence they can  replace him in the draft at some point. 

Looking at their depth chart there is o chance they would take a QB/RB/OT. 

Biggest need prior to this move was WR and CB is probably 2nd now.
