"McCaffery at 8 would be a reach and waste of a pick."

If u trade down u don't get him. Someone will take him and I heard saints would at 11. Imagine him on that offense. Everyone in our division has gotten better. We need something different on offense. If u like him take him at 8

I'm not worried one bit about the Saints, all that offense and no defense, if he's picked before us, so be it, Davis, Ross, Howard, Barnett, Ot, Ect will be available, while adding the 1st pick in the second round which could include several rd 1 rated prospects that have fallen out of the 1st.

The underlined portion of this particular paragraph is the reason why this pick would suck.

If I wanted to sum up why it would suck, Shula would not utilize said pick properly because it's Shula.  Thank you for your time.

You can't pass on a great football player because you don't like the offensive coordinator.  You're thinking way too short-term. The draft is all about accumulating the best football players.  No telling how long Shula will be around.  1 year?  2 years?  I think he's on a fairly short leash.  Passing up an exceptional long term asset because of Shula would be asinine.

Shula has failed pretty much every place he's been including Alabama.  Do you know how hard it is to fail at Alabama?  It's inexplicably difficult to fail at Alabama.  And he did that.

Since the end of the Paul Bryant era, there have been nine head football coaches at the University of Alabama.

Seven of those nine head coaches, using the standards to which Bama hold themselves due to the Paul Bryant Era, have been failures.

So I guess its easier than you thought to fail at a place like Alabama.

You dumb.

This is absurd. Following the Albert Means scandal, the NCAA placed Alabama on probation in February 2002 for the 2002-2006 seasons, banned them from bowl games for two years, and docked 21 football scholarships from the program. The program was in the toilet. Alabama hired Shula in 2003 when a lot of people did not want anything to do with that school. He did a great job there considering what he was dealing with, including reaching #3 in the polls at one point late in the 2005 season. But no, since it's Mike Shula, of course you have to jump on the bandwagon and call him a failure.

Plus, he never utilizes dump down passes which are McCaffrey's bread and butter.

Wrong. He is primarily a between the tackles runner. His skill in space and as a receiver is just an added bonus.

he is one of those players that has climbed perception since he's been off of a college field from like round 2-4 to top 10.  and he hasn't done anything on a field really to warrant that...so it's strange for me to now look at him differently.

Uh, the guy was the Heisman runner-up and AP Player of the Year in 2015. So he hasn't done much on the field? Really?

And no one projected him to go much lower than the top of the 2nd.

You think Shula can just turn us into a west coast offense, quick pass offense just because our offensive line can't pass block intermediate routes ? LOL what is this Madden ? Where you can just choose any teams playbook

Have you even watched Stanford or McCaffrey?
