Is this assuming Fournette is gone before we pick?

Yep!

I'll believe it when I see it. We have the best Intel on the kid, so I wouldn't be upset. I'd just be fascinated to see what his role would be on the team.

The Panthers drafting McCaffrey would be a welcome - and much needed - step into the future.

It would be the most forward-thinking draft pick since Cam.

We've got a talented unconventional QB.  Draft McCaffrey, a speedy WR, and a legit TE2 and our offense can morph from I-form to 4 WRs pre-snap.

Pick your poison - play base and watch CMac make your linebackers look silly in pass coverage; or play nickel and watch us ram it down your throat with power.

Hope his role will be something our WR coach has full input on and Shula 0.

He isn't bad but he's a reach at 8. This is a stacked draft class. Trading down may be the right move.

Issue is what team will be willing to trade up at our pick. We could trade down - which is ideal - but you can't predict whether or not there's any interest.

There's always interest for a top 10 pick. But how much interest all depends on how the first 7 picks go.

I think that's the Panther's plan to trade down to somewhere like 11 or 12 if Fournette, Adams, Hooker, Thomas, and Garrett are off by then. Howard shouldn't be in consideration at all due to this deep draft class, UNLESS McCaffrey gets snubbed somehow by the time we pick, which then he's our "RIP" option.
