If it required giving up as much as the Eagles did to move up to 2, I would be vehemently opposed. There is not a guy worth that much. There are a ton of great choices at 8 and we save our picks

People got upset when Hurney traded the future, but if Gettleman does it, it'll be genius! So tired of the DG nut hugging around here. 

As an in-DG-we-trust but hugger.. his drafting is suspect...

Hit or miss...

But 3 division titles buys a lot if credit.

That cap management buys a lot if credit.

But for anyone to think that DG is flawless in the draft is delusional.

This trading up scenario is nuts IMO.  If the Panthers were 1 player away I could see it. Trading up in round 1 just too costly. Only a franchise QB is worth this trade. I am sure DG is happy to let rumors fly.

The miss rate on 1st rounders being so high makes trading up all the more risky. Trading down would be a better option. We have a lot of holes and stop gap players on our roster, and you fix that with the draft.

No, no, hell no. Everyone on the board would gladly take Garrett...but at the cost?  We better win a title next year, because this trade could be a nice way to shut our window.

 

Even if Garret turned into Peppers Part Deux...

I'd rather have pick 8 (a potential pro bowler), our 1st next year (who knows where it winds up), our 2nd this year, quality starter material, and the couple of other picks of depth guys we'd be losing. If Gettleman made this trade...something tells me his job is tied to RR/Shula, mortgaging the future to "hopefully" win this coming season.

Jadeveon Clooney was just recently the #1 overall pick. He basically just hit a Michigan RB really hard (on a play where he was completely unblocked).

I saw Clowney and Garrett, Clowney blows Garrett out of the water. When Clowney was motivated he was unblockable, his first step if the fastest I've ever seen for a DE that size.

 

Garrett at the very best turns out to be Mario Williams and that's his peak.  Garrett is lucky he's a great athlete if not he would be a 3rd round pick

If the Panthers believe Garrett is the next Von Miller, which would be necessary for this type of trade, in Gettleman I'll trust.
