This is what frustrates me the most about this organization. Putting all their resources towards the defense and leaving the offense with scraps. When will it change?

This is a pretty surprising statement to me.  It makes me wonder who they're considering core.  Of the guys I consider our essential core (the heart & soul of our team) -  Cam, Luke, Greg, Ryan Kalil, TD, Stew, CJ -  only 2, Luke & Cam might be considered fairly young.

Sure we've got a good group of other young key players: Bradberry & Worley, Trai Turner, KB (not super young, but still on rookie contract), Shaq, Vernon Butler, Star, but I'm not quite ready to call any of them core, though obviously players like Bradberry & KB fill major roles at CB1 & WR1.  KK is core, but not so young..., Kurt Coleman is a player I appreciate a lot, but he's not young or truly "core" either.

Who on earth is the very young core PFF is refering to?

As to PFF's prediction that we take Ramcyzk at #8, it would be a huge surprise.  Yes OT is a huge need for us, and so on paper it seems like a good idea, but I just can't really believe he is BPA at #8.  It's a tough year to be needing / wanting an OT in the draft.  Any of the potentially decent guys like Ramcyzk & Bolles seem like a big reach at #8, yet will likely be gone by #40.   I've given up hoping that we'll get much new OT talent in the draft...

I think we go for a pass rusher or an offensive weapon at #8, though I'd be cool with Adams too if he were still on the board.

The funny thing is next year's OT class is deep, along with RB. Supposedly OTs next year will have solid depth, so it makes it more logical we wait one more year to grab our franchise tackle.

you have not a clue where we will be picking next year and where those tackles are going to go in the draft

UNC RB Elijah Hood averaged 4.1 yards after contact in 2015, tied for the highest among all RBs (min. 100 carries).

Should have starter quality tackles lasting until possibly the 3nd round from what I'm hearing about the upcoming class.

We skipped both Henry's and a DE last year for a DT. Last year was deep at DT and not as deep as this year at RB, DE and TE. I'm sure our scouts have their info on what we think is available/deep next year. If you want to be great year after year and do well drafting you get the value at the positions that are deeper. It's not going to dictate every pick like last year with Bradberry and Worley (although I'm very happy with both and last year was good for CBs, not as great as this year, but solid). Outside of maybe a couple, there's not much to help us this year at OT so why reach for one this year if you'll get a better one later or at the same spot next.

thats true. buy when supplies are plentiful, not when they are scarce. however, we have essentially an earlier crack at the limited supplies this year compared to last.

if a guy is there, regardless of if the class is deep at the position take him right? just a matter of how Gettys board looks.

I thinks teams change whenever they get a new GM whenever they get a new owner whenever they get new coaching staff. Because once any one of those things changed the philosophy and how the team is run may very well change as well
