Seborrheic Dermatitis

Dex

Recommended Posts

No experience with this, but...

I had a dog growing up that got mange all over his body bad because of an immune system incident when he was a puppy. All over dry skin and hair loss, etc.

My grandpa washed him with this every day and it cured him.

Might be worth a shot, because it is intended for human use.

I'm self diagnosing here but it looks like I may have seborrheic dermatitis. I've had dandruff most of my life but lately it's been worse. I have a redness on my scalp and severe dandruff. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any remedies? It's annoying and embarrassing and has worsened over the last few months.

As a cancer survivor, I try to cut out all chemicals as much as possible, which is becoming increasingly hard in this day and age.  That being said, stuff like Head N Shoulders, even if it did work, are off the table for me.  So many shampoos these days (head n shoulders being one of them), contain cocamide diethanolamine.  It's the stuff that makes your shampoo foamy.  It's also a carcinogen.  Stop using that stuff.

I've had really good success with using apple cider vinegar mixed with tea tree oil.

Here is what I do:

-Take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.

-Mix an equal amount of water and 15-20 drops of tea tree oil in it.

-Apply it onto your scalp and massage. Rinse your hair after a few minutes.

-Follow this treatment two or three times a week.

Keep up the fight and inspiration.  I just used head and shoulders this week whilr traveling and normally never use it but for sure now won't.

Thanks

Thanks! 3 years cancer free, many more to come.

Here is what I use for a daily shampoo in addition to the treatment above when needed.
