Looking at the running back prospects we've met with so far (I see "we" because I view myself as an essential part of the scouting team), it seems we are more looking at compliments to stewart rather than future replacements. Seems like we've focused more on lightning rather than thunder type running backs.

We've also been connected to guys like Samaje Perine and Elijah Hood. Those guys definitely aren't scatbacks.

You don't draft a guy with the thought of him complimenting a 30 year old RB. We're looking for guys who can help us post-Stewart IMO.

We're scouting the hell out of all types of RBs who are projected throughout the draft and even UDFA. Pretty obvious we're looking to bolster that position group and we're keeping our options open in terms of how we do it. I think that's bad news for CAP.

If we don't go Fournette you are right and honestly I hope we are looking to add versatility and speed. Staying with the power gap running game is not evolving but doing more of the same. I want us to go to more spread looks but not to run Cam but to help him find more mismatches and use what he already does well like the no huddle.

doubling down wouldn't be bad...How about Fournette and McGuire? I say yes!

I would rather double down at receiver/ tight end than running back. With Stewart here for the next 2 years running back is not a necessity. With our passing game already hurting and after losing Ginn it makes me think that this is a much bigger issue

If we wait til we need it, it's too late, we have enough picks to cover ...with the wr's we have signed I don't see a reason to double up there...one new TE is plenty...Green Bay showed necessity of rb depth...

We need a slot receiver and tight end that is doubling up. We already have Stewart Whitaker and CAP, and a fullback. How many running backs do you need? Unless you cut one of the three we won't be carrying 5 or 6 running backs on the team. Remember when the Patriots snaked a running back we were trying to stash on the practice squad. Running back is actually one of the few positions which is more instinctive and doesn't take a few years to master like WR does. So we don't need a bunch of running backs until we need them unless they are an upgrade from what we have.
