Dalvin Cook, FSU

The media blows everything out of proportion. Look at the we are going to trade up to the number 2 pick. That went away quick. Now everyone is like Panthers are going after McCaffrey at number 8. That will be gone after this week.

Nope just trying to figure out why there is no talk about him. He is just as good as McCaffrey.

McCaffrey's character is beyond reproach. The same can't be said for Cook, whose pattern of decision making over a long period of time leaves a lot to be desired. It's as simple as that.

I'd like to add a little to this comparison between Cook and McCaffrey.

Cook fumbles, a lot.  He's not going to help out on special teams, and he's no where near as great as a pass catcher as McCaffrey. Cook certainly has some positive traits, and I don't want to ignore those, but what he does well aren't things that he does better than McCaffrey.

I think he'd be a great 2nd round pick if he can clear his background up.  I saw somewhere that it's not him, but the people he surrounds himself with.  Well, if you are who you hang out with, how does that reflect on you?  If I hang out with a bunch of bad people, that doesn't make me bad, but it does mean I like to hang out with bad people.  It opens the door for a lot of investigation and probably some probing questions.

It was funny on here a month ago when all the armchair GM's were talking about how great this guy is and he should be the pick at #8 over LF.  All off field/injury concerns aside he doesn't stack up physically to any 1st round RB taken that I can remember

Yes, to some Huddlers' dismay, McCaffrey is the more complete football player. Thanks for adding that.

Small

Straight line speed but lacks shiftyness (reason why McCaffrey can return kicks and Cook cant)

Lack of quickness again. one of the worst 20 times at the combine, his fullback was quicker. Only 2 guys of the ones that ran the cone drill did it slower than him at RB

Lack of straight line speed. Bulked up to 210 (played most of his career at 205 tops) and track speed went away (his biggest strength and he ran prettty much the same as Fournette at 240)

Panthers arent going to have the dominant OL FSU had where he could shoot through and not be touched until a DB or LB chased from behind.

Vision, reminds much of DWills his last season here. Unless huge gaping hole, can get prone to running into piles instead of hitting a smaller crease

One of the worst fumbling RB in this class

Pros: good blocker, solid balance

Smokescreens for the chumps that want to take Fournette instead of position of need. They may know that he's as good as gone. Read that the NFL at large is afraid of Cam and Fournette linking up. Professionals not us.

I know people here don't agree but   if I were Getts I'd do that deal with SF. I don't think this organization has loved a RB like they have Stew. Fournette is as close as you can get. As we have seen Fournette is probably faster than clocked at the combine, probably similar to Adams. Dude ran 23mph. Stew was supposed to be a top 5 pick before he needed toe surgery. A runningback like Stew, like Fournette, to me is worth a couple picks.

F' it if the guy can help us win a SuperBowl now who cares what the future will be. It's about getting Jerry the ring he really deserves. To that end if #89 has an ounce of strength left I hope he'd let the petty sh slide and come do one season just for Jerry it'd be awesome.

His character concerns are much worse than his fans will admit. It's not like Cam Newton or Jaemis Winston where they were pretty much harmless and could be chalked up to immaturity. He has issues with both violence and alcohol. I want him nowhere near this team.

I don't know about Jamies being a rapist is harmless..

He will go first round. He hasn't been in trouble for a long time and wasn't charged

No Super Bowl wins WITH Stewart.
