Here's a question. I'm sure some of the diehards here know one of the big reasons for drafting KB and funch is catch radius. Olsen is similar, they are have long arms, big hands, tall, above average vert.... Each have a huge area to receive a Cam Newton pass. It's taboo here to speak out against cam, but he's not very accurate. Even in his MVP season that was the case, so that brings us back to Danny wood...er a mccaffrey.

Mccaffrey has a poor catch radius. He's also got small hands(9") and short arms(30'). That is bad for a guy who's mainly a slot. He would expose a weakness and before long fans would turn on cam. After about 60+ giant air mails, people would still blame Shula, then slowly turn on cam.

It's a good point but I think we've miscast the type of receiver cam needs. What Cam needs is guys who get seperation. It is why guys like Ginn and Corey Brown have had success. It's also why Greg Olsen is as good as he is.

Guys who can separate give Cam the ability to get away with a bad throw and still make a play. Funchess doesn't have that ability and it remains to be seen if kb can regain that ability since the injury.

Still doesn't stop the fact that he still is going to want to play for them. I feel as though as soon as he gets the opportunity to he will that is all that needs to be said.

Like CJ wanted to play for the Falcons? I'd bet a ton of money that Cam grew up wanting to play for the Falcons. Vick was probably his childhood idol growing up in ATL. If we only drafted and signed guys who grew up wanting to be a Panther we'd be the Cleveland Browns.

it's obvious to see from DGs previous drafts that he is fond of hog mollies not only on the oL but all over the field.,

also another weakness for McCaffery in this Carolina offense is that he is a liability in the backfield as a blocker which in turn doesn't compliment Cam Newton  mobility nor slow release.

Catch radius gets shrunk down quite a bit when there's zero separation. Cam is consistently forced to throw to guys who are well covered. It takes much more precise ball placement to complete a pass to a well covered big receiver than it does to complete a pass to a smaller guy who is actually open.

I'm sure Peyton and Eli would have liked to play for the Saints too.

They didn't and they haven't.

And probably never will.

There are no "legacies" in the NFL.

So we've got catch radius too small for Cam, but Cam had no problem finding SS.

Then, he's a fan of the Broncos, so he will leave after his rookie deal. Did Cam go to the Falcons?

Followed by, Shula won't know how to use him, but Shula will know how to use OJ or Ross.

What other excuse did I miss? He is not at the top of my list, but some of these excuses are just inane.

Good point , Cam consistently found ways to get the ball to Smitty while he's 2 inches shorter than McCafrey (although you have to admit Smith was already a very good WR by the time cam got here , CM will be a rookie with no experience ).

Ginn wasn't huge either , not Philly brown , both got plenty of yards in 2015 and Ginn still managed to get 700+ reveiving yards in two strait seasons with cam, he's what , one inch taller then McCaffrey ? Don't use the height excuse . If someone's blazing down the field open cam can hit them much more often than not .

I admit though cam does need to work on his short throw accuracy (ex. 10 yards or less ), he almost never puts soft touch on a pass it's always a heat seeking missile .

I don't think Fournette and cam

would clash. If you watch any of his interviews seems to have a very humble personality . Then again what fuging rookie is going to really clash with Cam?

Since cam has nicknames for everyone im very curious what he would name mccaffey lol .

Its almost as if Cam has shown the ability to complete passes to receivers who run crisp patterns and can get open.
