Welp, The 16-17 Season Just Died, Unceremoniously

I think i have detailed enuf in other threads how much we keep kicking the can down the road. From making a bad decision like Lance, to Hawes and then Plumlee. From passing on Beal, to forcing MKG down our throats, and passing on Booker.

The position needs have been duct taped or straight up ignored. We need a new GM - the Plumlee deal solidified that

Fire Rich Cho or keep struggling. The guy cannot draft, sucks in free agency, and only knows how to trade which is not good when you do not have many assets.

The Plumlee trade alone should be enough to get any GM in the NBA fired. 2 ppg and 1 rpg for over 12 million a year.......yikes.

So true, Cho has had more than enough time and hasnt gotten it done.

These are the 2 moves I wanted the Hornets to make before the start of this season.

At the time drafting him at 22 was a reach but now after his rookie season, we would look like geniuses.

This was right after we signed Hibbert and everyone thought I was crazy.  Many still might.  But Boban just put up 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists in 27 minutes against the Rockets on Friday night.  I know it's his best game of the season but when Detroit actually let him play he did ok.  He didn't end up being cheaper that Hibbert who we signed for one season at $5 Million and Boban signed with Detroit for 3 years for $21 Million.  Well, we traded Hibbert and got back Plumlee who is making $37.5 Million over the next 3 seasons.  And Plumlee has 27 points, 28 rebounds, and 2 assists the whole time he's been here.  Think I can get Cho's job with those 2 ideas?  Couldn't do any worse than he has.

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
