Clarification On Rule Banning "Methods To Conserve Time In Two-Minute Warning."

The NFL has recently passed the following rule that is quite vague on paper:

15. By Competition Committee; Makes actions to conserve time illegal after the two-minute warning of either half.

 

For those of you who do not understand what the new rule effectly is, here's a nice snippet on what it's about:

Working the clock with multiple penalties

Remember last season when the Ravens had their punt team commit a bunch of obvious holding penalties to milk the clock for the 11 seconds left in a game against the Bengals? Or maybe you prefer the time Chip Kelly had several players on the 49ers defense commit holding to burn the clock so the Saints settled for a field goal to end the half instead of a touchdown?

Such wizardry could be gone from the league if owners approve a rule that would call unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on teams that commit multiple fouls on the same play to work the clock. That would be a 15-yard penalty and the clock resets to where it was prior to the snap.

Result: Passed.

its 2017.  i'm surprised it took this long for teams to game the system this way to begin with.

Hopefully in the 2min drill we are using Fournette and J-Stew and grind the clock away.

Classic Madden move is to stand on the 1 and burn clock if you're about to take the lead late.

If a team's in range for the game ending FG I let them score a touchdown so I get the ball back. I've won games this way.

And no timeouts by the opposition before field goal kicks. God that's annoying and eats up time.

I originally thought of bring up madden lol.   that last technique works all the time.  It's won me games too.  those are the sweetest.  

 

 

speaking of madden,  did you know people are making serious loot playing that poo?   like I mean....   there was a 50k tourney the other day on NFL network, and they have another bigger tourney this year worth like 750k.   makes me wanna take a week off work and hit the sticks feriously or something
