Is Smitty overrated?

I don't know about calling him over rated but seeing him show his ass and blow up on the sidelines is getting old. You wanna win - fine! You wanna fire your teammates up - Great! You have a lot of passion - Awesome! I'm good with all of that but you need to back it up on the field and catch the damn ball! I love Steve Smith but he is getting a little sloppy and needs to get his poo together before he throws another childish rant on the sidelines.

He's not over rated by any means, he is a top 10 receiver in the league. I'm just sick of him getting pissed when he doesn't get the ball, then when he does get the ball thrown to him he sometimes drops it (that pass down the middle that he had to slide for but still should have come up with.

He's not over rated but as smoker said, I'm tired of the act.

Smith's not overrated if he was then he wouldn't get double, triple coverage all the time no matter who we play. The other teams know how dangerous he is if he's single covered and I think how other teams view him says a lot more about his ability than announcers, fans, or "outsiders".

When the other teams put 2-3 guys on smith and Jake still tries to throw to him...Well that's a failure in the OFFLINE coach and Jake himself. You hit everyone else, since Smith's got so many peps on him the other team takes a guy off him. Then you go to him and bam he's able to get some good catches and good yards. But Jake and our OL coach always seem to favor smith and the other teams know it so there going to shut him down because we have to most vanilla offense in the NFL.

Yeah, this is getting to be a problem. I believe his attitude is why Delhomme tries to force the ball to him so much. The vast majority of Delhomme's INT's in the last two years have been intended for Steve Smith.

In Smitty's defense though, he needs another WR that can consistently get open and make plays, and so does Jake. So far, Rosario is the only one who is consistently stepping up this year.
