If you've read the thread you would see that I've already given a response for that. I don't think you do much reading though. Sure as hell don't do much comprehending.

I read every response since you said Rivera/Shula are "pretty much" winning and I certainly didn't see any context.

You were wrong on that...just admit it and move on.

Up until last season, we've made the divisional round of the playoffs 3 consecutive years. Now, the 2014 season might not have played out like many wanted but we played the hand we were dealt. We won a sorry @$$ division and won our home playoff game vs a sorry @$$ team.

Ron and his crew built up towards those back to back to back titles. This past season though had more to do with terrible offseason decisions made by the front office.

I'm not disagreeing with that. You can evolve in more than one way and still keep that physical brand of football.

You can also get utility guys in the latter rounds (Devonta Freeman, Ty Montgomery, Devin Hester, Tyreek Hill, Duke Johnson, etc.)

By physical, do you mean traditional?

Run heave 1st and 2nd...leave Cam back there to die on 3rd and long?

This is precisely why I'm way higher on McC vs. LF.

I've mentioned it a few times....are you forgetting about Stew?

As to the names you listed....and finding them later in the draft....this is absolutely the worst way to look at something like this.  You could do the same with offensive line, QB's, S's, CB's, etc...

We are 40-23-1 with 3 division titles and a SB appearance under GMan with Shula as OC.

Unless we are planning to play a different QB, these pipe dreams of playing a "Patriots" type offense are not realistic. Some adjustments? Yes. Complete overhaul? No way. You play to your QBs strengths. Not try and make him do something completely different because " that's what the team that won the SB did this year".  The Pats offense is entirely built around Brady's strengths. Quick reads and getting the ball out quickly. Not to mention he's arguably the GOAT QB. Do we need some of that element to our offense. Sure. But that isn't what Cam excels at. In fact, it's probably the weakest part of his game. And people want to change the offense to feature his biggest weakness. Brilliant!!!

People like Ron Rivera and Dave Gettleman?

Not one person (that has sense) is saying that we need to run the Pat's style of offense....although you won't see me argue against it....what we need is a dynamic playmaker OUTSIDE of Cam on the offensive side of the ball...we don't have another by the way.

You draft McCaffrey to be your starting RB, and you damn well better be. Especially at #8. He's a less athletic Reggie Bush/Percy Harvin. You don't spend top 10 picks on secondary pieces. You get elite RBs, #1 WRs, or LTs. Even a TE, no matter how good, is a reach.

Anyone who thinks that Fournette isn't an impact playmaker is sadly mistaken. No player in this draft would take more attention away from Cam, and in turn benefit from playing with Cam more than LF.

Stew would still be the "starter" if we took LF at 8, at least this year.

I don't look at McC as a RB only, I look at him as someone who can help flip the field....take some heat off of Cam, and move the chains in different ways than what we already have....again, a dynamic player.

Fournette is a big, fast back, with questionable hands, and poor form in pass pro.....you know....another back like Stew...but worse in pass pro.

Stew couldn't break 4.7 in a 40 now, and that's being kind. And you don't let 30 year old RBs, on their last leg, determine a draft pick in the top 10. And you also don't let PR/KR determine that either. Most KOs are touch backs. And there are tons of capable PRs around. McCaffrey is a mismatch against college LBs. But how will he be effective in the slot against pro CBs? Don't know? Pass protection is easily taught. You think McCaffrey can block anyone coming on a blitz?

We need a cornerstone player that takes the attention away from Cam. A situational player is not going to do that.

If we were playing in 1985 I would absolutely be all in for LF...but we aren't.  This is a different time...you need versatility on offense, and outside of Cam....we have very little.

Check out Devonta Freeman's stats from 2016.  That is how you would use McCaffrey in our offense...and it would be awfully beneficial when mixed in with Stew.

And once again, Cam ain't Matt Ryan. Ryan goes to his check downs too much. So they finally catered to it. With a downfield threat in Julio (something we don't have anything close to) it made a huge difference. It also helps when your OL starts every game together and healthy.

Forget 1985. How about 2015? How many passes did we throw to our RBs compared to the rest of the league? Where was our offense ranked again? Why not get an actual WR to play WR. You can find a Freeman (whose now sharing carries) in the 4th round. For a reason. Not in the freaking top 10. Would you really consider taking Freeman top 10?
