LOL at ppl talking about "But not at #8"

If he's not going to be there at #40 and the Panthers feel he fits us best, why not at #8? Because some of y'all still got Ms. Cleo's number? Y'all know she died, right? >.>

Of course it's not for 8.

Not really. Njoku actually plays better as a TE, as he has shown proper blocking technique, and has a frame that can add 10-15lbs easy. Not only that, but he is far more athletic, fast, and powerful in comparison to Funchess. Njoku is an actual TE who could dominate real soon, and only drops due to a very coachable element.

You really see things through whatever colored glasses you want to at the moment.

Well even though people seem to forget that we have visits/workouts/meetings with players we consider in all rounds, based on these threads it seems like Njoku will be one of 45 players gone before our pick 8. I don't think he'll even be available at 8 anymore so you don't have to worry about it.

Half the draft will be over with after the 15th pick according to the huddle

Everyone says concentration drops can be fixed, but it seems like that rarely actually happens. KB's spotty hands were supposedly completely coachable too but he still drops quite a few balls he should catch.

I think Njoku has a lot of potential, but at some point we have to start prioritizing pass catchers who are more reliable or we're going to continue to see lots of catchable passes hit the grass.

Nope it's true. You Howard guys can't see him for the pussy that he is. I'm sorry but I don't a gentle giant as my future TE. Let the Taints draft as Jimmy Graham 2.0 and watch him disappear when a physical defense comes to town

I'm not an anybody guy. There are too many scenarios to hop on one guy and argue they are the only possible player to draft. That is painfully simple minded.

Njoku looks to be a good player with alot of potential to contunue developing. But the things said are contrary to the consensous.

Id be real happy with him at a later pick.

It happens every year.  During the season everyone complains about our receiver's hands and poor Cam has no one that is dependable.  Then the draft season starts and everyone falls in love with highlight videos and convinces themselves that hands can be improved.

Even with that being said I think Njoku has a world of potential.  I'm not convinced we draft him at 8 though, but there is nothing wrong with doing your due diligence.  Maybe we end up trading back from 8 or up from 40.  Most people would probably prefer Howard at 8 vs Njoku at 8 but what if it is Njoku at 12 plus a 3rd rounder?

Maybe he drops for some reason.  I don't expect it but when you never know.  I'm sure there will be someone expected to go 15-25 that ends up falling out of the first round.

Either way it seems pretty safe to say that we are planning to draft a TE at some point.  I wouldn't be too shocked if we end up drafting two of them.

On Tuesday’s PFT Live, former Miami tight end David Njoku told a humorous — and bizarre — story from his time in Indianapolis.

Njoku said that, when he walked into the room to meet with one specific team, the head coach and scouts declined to shake his hand. And then they glared at him for a while before someone asked this question: Where does the sun rise, and where does it set?

It was the Rams.. they asked that because Jerrod Goff could not answer the same question last year... Njoku was on Rich Eisen a few weeks back, told the same story...

and yet, LA still moved up to grab the dunce cap...

Rivera said he was happy about the TE position. I don't really see us drafting one definitely not two. But if they draft one has to be Howard he is the best of them all especially with his blocking

That and people want to ignore that we very well maybe take Howard at 8 if he is there but this is a back up plan. Dave really wants to know what this kid can do.
