Bradberry did well down the stretch. He's shaping up to be a good zone CB in the mold of maybe a stiffer Chris Gamble. Worley did not stand out and looked like a JAG. We might have an opportunity to replace a serviceable non-playmaker with a shutdown CB in Lattimore. That kind of speed and ball hawk ability is critical for slowing down high powered offenses. Gettleman doesn't mind about snapping up a DT when he's already invested in DT, and he wouldn't care about grabbing another CB assuming he likes Lattimore. 
Yes Captain is our stop gap for the slot. That's not stopping us from taking Lattimore assuming Getti likes him of course.
DE is a bigger need, but the draft does not yield an elite DE at 8. It might offer the best CB in the draft. A shutdown CB. An immediate starter and playmaker day 1. 
 
 

Our defense does not require a shut down corner. Our corners mainly play cover 3 and always get safety help over the top so having a shut down corner is not a priority. And Derrek barnett is a good de. I would say julius peppers is a stop gap because he signed a mere 1 yr deal. Hes gone after this year. Cap on the other hand is here for 4 years assuming he stays but I wouldn't call him a stop gap. Our corners are fine. Especially knowing lattimore is plagued with so many injuries. If he had no injury history, id see an argument in taking him. But i dont see that. No point in risking taking a top 10 player who might not even play in half the games. And those injuries take a toll. His production will be affected if he continues to have surgeries. And a BIG reason why gettleman took butler was because star and kk were nearing the end of their deals. Butler was drafted incase star or kk leave, we have a good hog molly ready to roll. We managed to sign kk but i doubt we sign star. We have a cheaper option in butler so i doubt we offer star a legitimate contract. Also, of we must take a flyer on a cb with injury concerns, id much rather give up a 2nd for sidney jones.
