Mock draft

Where's the rest? haha

I like all those picks though. I think we'd end up starting Lattimore and Bradberry which would give us an A+ corner tandem, with solid depth with Worely and whoever else we have on the roster filling in when needed.

Getting Robinson is an absolute steal in with pick 40 whatever the questions of his abilities are he's still one of the top 5 tackles of the draft. Assuming Oher comes back healthy and Kalil is servicable, at minimum this gives us great depth at OT, with him and Williams filling in off the bench if need. I could see Cam being Oher's eventual replacement, or Kalil's if he sucks.

Obi seems like a very gifted athelete, I'm not sure if his skills will translate well to the NFL, if they do he'd be an aboslute monster of a saftey he checks all the physical boxes.

Gallman, looks like a productive RB. But I really don't like his super slender frame for a taller RB, he honestly looks more like a WR in his highlight videos body type wise . Kinda hard to evaluate but overall in the 4th round can't really complain about getting a national championship level RB

Cam at 40 and Obi at 64? Not very realistic, but I guess anything could happen. Would switch Lattimore to an Offensive playmaker (Howard, McCaffrey, Davis or Ross), but also wouldn't hate Lattimore here.

The dog ate the rest.

Yeah the CB position needs a major upgrade considering we need to beat Atlanta to retake the South. When you have a shot at a shutdown CB at 8 you take it unless there is a star at a more important position, ie DE/OT ect. There isn't. Lattimore should be able to stick to Julio like glue, and chase him down if there is trouble. Unlike the sad image of Julio running away from Bene. We can put Lattimore on #1 WRs and rest easy.

Cam could go early in the second round, or he could go as high as the middle of the first imo. In this mock we get lucky as he tumbles into the second. Certainly not impossible. We're another Oher head injury away from an OT disaster, so the position has to be addressed. I like Cam as our future RT and insurance in case Kalil sucks.

I like bigger safeties because the little guys sometimes get blasted by big RBs and big TEs. Obi might be a little on the dopey side, but I think we can coach him up. I think the Panthers are interested in this guy. No one is going to push him around, and he can really move.

Gallman to me is an upgrade over Fozzy Whitaker. He would basically be his replacement and do the same stuff Fozzy has been doing for us. Good change of pace for Stewart who is now more of a hammer than a speed guy, not that he wasn't always more of a hammer.

Seems teams view obi as a cb and he's worked  himself into late first consideration. No chance he falls to day 3

I wouldn't play Obi at CB, Safety only, but you're right that he will probably be gone, and Cam as well. So I'm to update this mock to be more realistic.

I HIGHLY doubt we take a cb in the first. I honestly don't understand why people are mocking a cb to the panthers in the first two rounds. The panthers already invested a second and a third in two cbs last year but all what everyone seems to remember is them getting burned for over 300-400yds a game in the beginning of the season. What people seem to have forgotten is that james bradberry played at a very high level second half of the season. He was the top rated rookie cb by pff at the end of the season, higher than jalen ramsey who was taken in the top 5. Bradberry was also the only rookie to make it into the top 25 cbs of 2016. Daryl worley also showed promise as the second cb and was ranked 12th in run stopping. They both showed they can be average-above average starters for this team. Then we signed captain munnerlyn (who was ranked just behind bradberry in the top 25 cbs of 2016) to play the slot and i dont think cb is even a need for us. We can definitely pick a cb in the later rounds as this is a deep class but i dont see them going for a cb above the 4th. DE is a much more pressing need. And if we were to say, we're drafting BPA and not based on needs, taking into consideration lattimores injury and surgery, his stock takes a hit.

Bradberry did well down the stretch. He's shaping up to be a good zone CB in the mold of maybe a stiffer Chris Gamble. Worley did not stand out and looked like a JAG. We might have an opportunity to replace a serviceable non-playmaker with a shutdown CB in Lattimore. That kind of speed and ball hawk ability is critical for slowing down high powered offenses. Gettleman doesn't mind about snapping up a DT when he's already invested in DT, and he wouldn't care about grabbing another CB assuming he likes Lattimore.

Yes Captain is our stop gap for the slot. That's not stopping us from taking Lattimore assuming Getti likes him of course.

DE is a bigger need, but the draft does not yield an elite DE at 8. It might offer the best CB in the draft. A shutdown CB. An immediate starter and playmaker day 1.

Yeah I would keep him at S as well because he looks good there. I'm not a professional scout or nfl personnel though so idk maybe hey would be better at cb

Not gonna take a CB with our first rounder, we had 2 rookies last season who will continue to get better

Robinson is destined to be a G in the NFL, not sure if Panthers or not.

We have a second 2nd rounder, FYI

Obi not gonna last to the end of 3rd round, probably have to take him with 40th pick to get him

Gallman might be there in 4th

To me the obvious pick is Lattimore if he's there.

With Cam what's going to happen is a team is going to let him play either LT or RT and if he's bad, then he'll get a shot at OG.

I'm going to fix the order. Move Obi up ect.

I dont think anyone is projecting reuban foster to go in the top 7. If he's there, we should definitely consider him. Whats better than having 1 keuchly? 2 keuchlys! And plus thomas davis is near the end of his career. Once he leaves, its gnna be harder for kuechly cuz he'll need to carry the load. Having a young stud to groom would really help. Plus if soloman thomas or the top 3 dbs are off the board, theres no reason to go elsewhere. Mccaffery, cook, barnett, are not better than foster. If foster had his character in control, he would be going top 5. Dont deny the talent
