I'm calling it, Panthers Trade up to #2 for Fournette

Great Point. Have we ever drafted a truly successful running back after the 1st round?

DeShaun Foster is the only guy who comes to mind. He was picked in the 2nd round (#34). He had some great moments but never eclipsed 900 yds in a season and was somewhat injury prone. I can't think of anyone else.

It would be nice to have a back you know could consistently be a feature back for the next 5 seasons. At the end of his contract he'd be approaching his 27th b-day during the post season.

But was RB this deep whenever we drafted CAP?

Not saying it won't happen, just saying I don't think it will happen.  Draft is way too deep IMO.  Also, I font think I would like it much

I can see us packaging the two 2nd round picks to get into the backend of the first to pick up a guy that is falling but not this.

Well I am saying this wont happen.

I could honestly see this happening and if Fournette is as good as many think he will be (has drawn comparisons to Bo Jackson and Adrian Peterson) it would be totally worth it IMO. Either the Jags or Jets are likely to draft him long before he falls to us at 8. Daniel Jeremiah (who worked in the Ravens org as a scout) says he may be the best prospect in this draft.

that rumor came from a mock draft @Doc Holiday. it isnt a rumor and only was because some no-name thought it would be good clickbait. seems he was right. lol.

that being said, its not impossible that the Panthers trade up or even trade up specifically for Fournette. I really dont think anyone knows. but i would venture to guess that we stand pat. there are about 12 players worth a top-10 pick. only 8 will be gone. we will have choices this year.

All the people saying "He won't be as good with us because our O-line is poo" need to essentially wipe our 2016 O-line away from your memory. You do realize our line was a revolving door of inconsistency, right? I mean, Remmers from RT to LT, Kalil out, Turner moving to RT at one point. Plus a bunch of other inconsistencies.

On paper if we are healthy with what we have now, Kalil, Norwell, Kalil, Turner and lets say for arguments sake Oher comes back and plays RT, that is a respectable starting offensive line in this league. That interior is more than capable of opening up holes for Fournette. Couple that with his ability alone, I'm not too concerned with him getting his on this team.
