Adrian Peterson is the perfect example of how an all world rb talent doesn't do much for you in the big picture

AP has never had a legit starting QB his entire career much less a stable head coach till now. Vikings werent in a superbowl 2 years ago when he got there either. Comparing AP to leonard coming here is really not close.

I can't even remember the last time a team picked up a all world RB and already had a franchise QB in place.

That's not the point.

Defensive value is higher than offensive value after Fournette. Howard is Julius Thomas, not Greg Olsen. NFL.com posted the most accurate description of Howard and why he isn't worth the 8th spot. Despite Bucky calling him the most complete TE in years (you know... outside Ebron who he hyped up to no end), Howard's concerns stem from being in a system that gets him wide open looks, losing snaps from his sophomore year to his senior year, not loving the game, and not having a strong demeanor to be in the trenches or battling aggressive LBs and DBs in his routes.

Howard is a potential bust/disappointment at #8

How in the hell can you or anyone else know if he loves the game or not. And there are plenty of hall of famers who didn't like football.

For that comparison to be anywhere near valid, he'd have to be at least close to as fast as Bo Jackson was.

Here's the thing... he ain't.

Comparison doesn't mean he's an exact facsimile of Bo or any other player - it's based on a combination of factors include size, speed, running style, etc...

I personally think he's more comparable to Adrian Peterson who ran a 4.4 at 217 lbs. Fournette ran a 4.5 at 240 pounds and has the same upright, punishing style.

Will Fournette be the next AD? who knows... but we're talking about what the Panthers FO might see in him.

Thanks for mentioning that because that's another difference.

Jackson wasn't an upright runner.  When he came through the line, his shoulders were always ahead of his knees, which is why he delivered blows and didn't take'em.  He only went upright when he broke free.  (Herschel Walker was the same way.)

I've watched Fournette for 3 years now.  I watched Jackson his entire career.

And refreshing my memory with the video above, I repeat:  I just don't see the comparison.

I mean, if you simplify it down to basics like "big, powerful, and fast" then, yeah, I guess "basically" they're the same guy.  But when you watch them both play?  No comparison.

P.S. Just as a point of trivia, at 11:05 of the video the player with jersey #2 that tries to tackle Jackson and gets face-planted?  Deion Sanders.

P.S.S. Also at 13:22 of the video note the 40-yard dash time that the announcer himself says that Jackson ran.  In other words, that time wasn't invented as a Bo Jackson legend or myth at a later date.  It was known and understood contemporaneously when Jackson was still in college.
