New Phone - why shouldn't I?

I have had a Samsung 6 but I'm back to considering going to a dumb phone. I love all the apps and junk but man the phone can be a serious time burglar. 

You could argue well just don't use your phone for x amount of time a day but then why pay for it?

I feel the same, I bought my teenage daughter an iPhone and she went from talkative and outgoing to a stare at the phone drone.  Disturbing, I tried to take the phone for a test and she cried until I gave it back.  I don't think they are good for any of us.

I am on the fence with either the LG G6 or Google Pixel. My wife will probably be getting the Google Pixel so I will get a good indicator on how it does.
