We already have 80 guys on the roster and currently have no starter openings. Think about it, every starting position is filled.

This is Gman's thinking. He will be forced to cut two or more players if he does keep the 8 picks we currently have. So why not just trade some picks so we can get better players.

33% is about the same hit rate as normal draft picks, for what it's worth.

QBs rise and I think 3 go first round.  And maybe more.  The Cal QB could be a bigtime surprise pick in round 1.
