Some notes from my source

In that thread u said we're sold on Hooker. So if the new rumor is Peppers could go before Hooker, that'd have to happen before we pick, right? Does ur source really think Peppers could go top 7?? I'd be pissed as a fan if my team took Peppers that high

Btw, just cuz some of these guys think u and ur "source" are a lie doesn't mean the rest of us don't appreciate the insight. Thanks man

Ehh, different teams different opinions. While Peppers may be the better overall talent, it comes down to scheme fit, being comfortable with the player, what he can do, etc. I personally as a..."fan scout" don't have Peppers above Hooker, I think Hooker is a top 5 player, whil I put Peppers down in the 10-15 range. I would be shocked if we took Peppers, but not shocked if someone in the top 10 took him. I was told to not be surprised if he went ahead of Hooker, I think that is due to injury though, so anything could happen.

The more I think about it, As much as I dislike it, I think we could move up for Fournette.  I do believe that he will be the pick at 4 by the jaguars, so we might actually trade up with Chicago.  I could see us package 8, #40, and next years second rounder for him.  If we stand pat, I think Barnett or Allen will be the pick at 8, we're not gonna move up for defense, Gettleman is too good and evaluating talent on that side.

I don't like it either, but a RB is big for us---I think DG thinks the OL is built.  I think he feels that he addressed WR in free agency, and I think they are now higher on Byrd than they were Brown.  Garrett and Bersin could be ready.  Shepherd is better than advertised, and Johnson is a perfect fit for Cam---I think Gettlemen llikes the offense except at RB and a second TE--maybe he wants a real fullback.

So if that is the plan, getting Fournette makes sense.  I would rather see us take Fournette if there at 8, OJ if he is not.  The draft is pretty loaded at RB--but I am not sure we want a RB--I think we want THE RB.  Just a hunch---good thought, CC.

I miss the days when Trubisky, Kiser or Watson were sprinkled into the top 7 of mocks so that better talent could fall to us. All this talk of trading up for a RB has me feeling depressed

If we don't see quarterbacks going in the top 10 this will be a very rare draft. The teams in the top 10 mostly all need quarterbacks

Talked to him again the other day, threw some questions out there, and here are some more notes from him:

-He believes Bills will take Trubisky
-Hooker's health is becoming less of a concern and should vault him into top 5 discussion (Which kills the whole Pepper's going ahead of him thing)
-He is hearing that Watson is very much in play in the top 3 picks
-Four qbs in the first round is almost a certainty (Mahones, Kizer, Trubisky, Watson)
-Christian McCaffrey is a top 10 talent on his teams draft profiles
-Malik McDowell is being seriously underplayed as a prospect, and was told anyone who has him dropping to the second doesn't know what they are talking about

Great stuff

I believe Bills owners were in NC today to talk to Trubisky
