"Browns called us, asked about trade up, asked about interest in qb, makes the assumption of Trubisky first overall even more  cloudy, who knows anymore man, this draft is crazy"

Lol, the misdirection has nfl teams stressed out. Think even the smokescreen teams are buying their own smokescreen at this point?

Browns called about trading up from 12 to 8 or Panthers trading up from 8 to 1?

My guess is your guy works for SF. Just a guess. No idea. Anywho, no need to spill it. But at this point, any info your guy can get is very much appreciated.

I am officially in this current mindframe-- any of the following in Carolina will make me happy: Adams, Fournette, McCaffrey, Allen, Garrett, Howard, Lattimore, Thomas....so yeah. As long as DG doesn't go stoopid at 8 and take some rando, I'll be happy.

That's how I am. Don't trade up and I will be happy with pretty much anyone at 8

Modern NFL moved away from the Power Run game! That's why it's the perfect time to have a dominant Power Run game

If we do, then everything that Gettleman has spewed about draft "gold" has been a blatant lie.

Its all in what picks you consider "gold" he's simply seeing all the Holes Christian would fill, hence the Lost in free agency Ted Ginn to the saints, a running back since we will be losing Stewart this is his last year as he is 30 years old going into his last year under contract

No source but just a roiling gut feeling...

Panthers trade back into the late first, or use #40 to take a LB.

I'm not sold that we are sold on our depth. TD is nearing the end of his career, Luke's noggin is a concern for me, and Shaq is still learning. Behind them, we've got solid guys but no capable week-in-week-out starters.

I've been high on Zach Cunningham for a long time, and I think he could be a target, as well as a couple other guys.

I don't see us going LB over DB if the grades are anywhere close....if we don't go Adams or Hooker in the 1st....but who the hell knows?

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
