Makes sense. He could be had very late, possibly even as a UDFA and he'd be a better backup for Cam stylistically than DA. Plus, who knows how much longer DA will continue to play anyway? Could be an ideal guy to groom on the PS for a year or two hoping to make him a quality backup.

I remember last year when the Panthers has some interest in Prescott and Hundley. it seems they are looking for a back up with a similar set of skills to Cam.

Gettleman must see something, so I believe the kid has to be more than trash. Even if he's ultimately a UDFA, Gettleman just ain't working him out because he thinks that he sucks.

I remember when some speculated Blaine Gabbert should be drafted ahead of Cam Newton because he was much more accurate and Cam was just an oversized running QB with a strong but inaccurate arm.
