Double Trouble 2.0

I would give anything to have 23 year old Jonathan Stewart on our Roster.. as years have gone by, I feel his potential has been wasted behind DeAngelo Williams, who in his own right was a beast for us in his prime..

As we wait eagerly and impatiently for our pick, let us remember and appreciate the beast that stewart was..( still is) ..

He was so explosive..  bouncy...  flexible.. powerful.. fast...

BEAST...  I became a fan in 2003 because I won a panther football in 1st grade at the end of that year for good behavior and learning my 1st grade stuff.. the following year..  I watched them in the Super Bowl in 2004... became a fan,, in my childhood, i grew and grew on them.. it solidified in 2008 when i watched double trouble GAPE the Bucs Live.. my first Panthers game.. what a night to solidify my fandom.. i received monday night tickets as a gift for getting all A's my 8th grade year...

since, ive seen a Panther great leave in DeAngelo.... but Stewart remained..

(some deangelo Highlights remain.. its OK, hes a panther great *turned sour*    but non the less)

i had SO MUCH PRIDE in our run game...  every madden i owned i made sure double trouble had their share...

and then there was Stewart.. the young, bouncy, fast guy... he turned tough...  he turned into a vet... a MoFo who will take YOU OUT.. carrying our ROCK along with CAM...

and Then, the best Expirience we have all experienced......    #2015

And i had so much pride, FINALLY.... Stewart was recognized......

A recoil year in 2016...

And I really believe there is a revival in 2017 of double trouble.......    #Fournette

except there isnt a dead roster... we have a Loaded roster, that will WIN...  winning with Cam Newton...  Stewart.. and ....

Let the Carolina GAPING run game live on folks...  I love the PAnthers like all of you... heres to 2017.

A lot of it is OL and scheme. Our run scheme is...odd. When we dial up the nice schemes, we look good running. We end up putting more guys to the run side than they can block and it's minimal 5 yards. Unfortunately, we don't run those often. That and our OL hasn't been consistent enough in run blocking as a unit to get us in a rhythm.

Also, for the millionth time, the read option isn't a problem. We just need to get more comfortable running out of conventional sets more than we run the option. It's not a matter of "teams have figured out how to stop it". The play is designed so that you can't truly stop it. Sure, maybe a play or two here or there, but more times than not, it's 4 yards when we want it. The problem is we run the same option play using the same read key too often. That and we don't get the edge blocking to get second level, which is key. That's execution and the OC understanding what the defense is trying to do against it to exploit it. It's why Paul Johnson is so successful with the triple option at Georgia Tech. He's been there about a decade. The entire ACC knows what GT does on offense. You  can't truly stop it if the players execute and the coach knows what he's doing and how to adjust on the fly. So quit acting like the option is a bad play. It's literally the best play in football if you know how to use it.

Until the OL and Shula get better, you can run spread, I, single-back, twins, offset, doesn't matter. There's seldom room to run unless you break the tackle at the LOS or make him miss.

I'd be a bigger fan of Smash and Smash. You know, change up from the punishing runs that Stewart doles out to... MORE OF THE EXACT SAME poo FROM FOURNETTE!!!. Good luck corners and safeties! I bet our linemen would cream themselves if we had these two in the backfield and went ahead and said we are going to run the ball like 65% of the time. "Sorry if this isn't what you were expecting, Norwell, but we got some plays designed where we need you to kick around and JUST ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISH KENNY VACARO..."

I was at that monday night game too... 298 yards I think after the kneel downs.... I'll never forget the crowd when Stewie planted Barber with that stiff arm.... thats the game that cost Gruden his job.

Well Stewart has gotten slower and less elusive with age that's for sure. But he somehow still has alot of power and that same ability to keep his balance really well.  I think he's put on alot of muscle over the years the dude is jacked as a mother, maybe he decided to make his game more power focused and less speed focused IDK.

Honestly there's a lot of RB I wouldn't mind picking up in this class, especially now that I know the team is commited to Stewart for another 2 years that opens up that type of running back they could be looking to draft.

I would say Fournette at 8, Fournette, Cook  , or McCaffrey in a trade down, McCaffrey , Cook, or Foreman in round 2, Perine or Gallman in the mid rounds, and theres a lot of late mid to late round RB options I'm not too familiar with all the prospects though. Both the UNC backs look good and Jamaal Williams seems to be a frequent popular late round RB mock pick.

    • Watching Rams/Eagles. Celebrating the St Louis Rams team that won the SB (Warner, Holt, etc..) while playing in Los Angeles seems wrong.  If I were in Los Angeles, no way I would attend a Rams game.  Probably wouldn't attend a Chargers game either.  Becoming a fan of a team that likes to move around just seems like a waste of energy as a fan.
    • The only responses I am getting after providing statistics to put opinions in perspective seem to be from people who get angry and attack stats and people whose opinions differ from their own.  Have people on the Huddle ever overreacted, exaggerated, been wrong about players before?  Sure they have, so an alternative opinion with statistical support should not cause you to attack me or my views.  I am sorry your public schools failed you.  But your reactions are very revealing--you are stuck in Piaget's concrete operational stage--learn logic, how to debate a topic, and learn the difference between facts and emotional opinions.  When I paralleled Cam's stats with Jones' to point out how remarkably similar their careers have been to this point, It blew some 40 watt minds.  I think Jones, in a better situation, could be good--that should not upset you--
    • penalties and poor hands is what cost us in the RZ Bryce missing "high" in the back of the end zone is not an issue, you're taught as a QB to throw high in the back of end zone were only the receiver can catch or no one The duo of Ian Thomas and Tommy tremble can both go at the end of the season, both been here for multiple seasons and they've barely developed
