Tony Pauline's mock draft (worst possible scenario for us)

Several things

As has been mentioned, Cook is a no go conversation

Foster is probably BPA in this scenario, but would we take the best ILB in the draft?  Loss of Klein and Lukes concussions?

I personally don't see a guy who would have a chance to start other than Lattimore with this draft.

Whether or not we can find a trade down partner is always suspect, better to have someone with a huge desire to trade up :)

1.  Trade down to 12 or 13

2.  Lattimore

3.  C Davis

These are your choices unless someone crazy like we trade down w Houston for their choice of first QB in the draft, getting 2nd and 3rd this year and next.  Last one is just for fun

I think Panthers fans would lose their minds if we took Lattimore. But he would be a stud for sure and pairing him with JB24 would be nice.

I'm warming up to it.

He's not in my top 3 or so, but just going by this mock's scenario then I would be fine with the choice. I don't think his talent is in question - it's just that CB would feel like a "meh" pick since we went so heavy last draft. But that's a solid group when you add in Cap and Worley.

Plus Adams and Coleman. I'm not arguing for it but that's a formidable secondary. There are a lot of great scenarios.

personally if this scenario played out I would trade down to Cleveland if willing to #12 and price would be #1 in 2nd round have 3 2nd round picks and take BPA at number 12... Potentially available at #12 could still be Ross, Humphrey, Barnett, Corey Davis, Peppers, Cam Robinson, etc.

Cook can't make it past the vetting process and we'll never take him.

If it plays out like this through the first 7 picks, we'll grab an OT and then trade back in for McCaffrey.

If Gettleman takes any OT in this class at #8, it should be his last draft pick ever.

yeah no way in hell we take Cook. he's radioactive for a team like ours right now. Im sure Dallas and Cincy will be all over him though.

Seriously though i dont think there is a "worst case" for us this year. even if it plays out exactly like this guy says (except Cook), that means we have Lattimore, Davis, Mike Williams, Barnett, and Ramczyk available. I would be comfortable spending #8 on any one of those guys.
