Stew should actually have some tread left. He hasn't really been an overused back. 

As for the college kids, I don't think that it's a major consideration as long as they've had an average+ history of injury. As the analyst intimates, running style should be taken into account when looking at touches, and that's why he dinged Perine.

Stew's ankles and feet have been on borrowed time dating back to his days at Oregon. He's had consistent durability issues his entire career. I don't blame him. He's a beast when he's on the field and by all accounts does everything that's expected of him. But, it's definitely time to find out next bellcow RB.
