Honestly the Super Bowl doesn't impress me much either, Denver's offense sucked so badly that game- our defense really let us down with not getting more INTs from those ducks Manning was throwing. 

 

I still claim to this day, that if Bene had not gotten hurt he would have gotten a pick 6 on their opening drive. McClain had one and he messed it up

Don't bother reading the comments then. About 85% of them state that we got fleeced, Ron and McD were bad coaches, and that BB is going to turn this ultra-talented DE into monster tank that can take down God himself.

 

Then you have the 10% or so that are rational and intelligent, and are saying, "Ehh... he took a flyer. If it works out, great.. if not, oh well."

 

Then you have the last 5% who are too utterly fuging stupid to even post a coherent thought. The rest of the world calls them Falcons fans, but I digress...

Gettleman got little to nothing for him and his career here was undeniably a disappointment for a 2nd round pick. Still think it was a terrible trade to move up only 8 spots so far from draft day.

He's going to ball in New England this year, we all know it. Gettleman better hit on those second rounders. 

It's possible that he would have balled out here next season. We pulled the plug too early in my opinion. Having said that, for higher round picks, year three seems to be do or die. (Looking at you Funchess.)

Considering hindsight, who else was available when Ealy was picked and the fact we didn't get anything for him (which confirm this thought), I consider Ealy to be one of Gettle's biggest fug ups and god awful draft choices, confirmed what I thought that when he was drafted too.

Ealy's potential and upside is indeed undeniable. But what's also undeniable is that he doesn't have the will or mental strength and displine to come anywhere near reaching his potential. It's undeniable that he's shown, in his 3 years in this league, essentially no improvement whatsoever in the most important area for him. Terribly sad case of wasted talent. I'm rooting for the kid, as he definitely seems like a good kid and if the change of scenery and coaching staffs can help him, then great for him. But I highly doubt that will happen, which makes me say that the trade was good for us.
