Saints talking to Manziel

Mr. Scot

Honestly, I don't understand all the hate. Yeah, Manziel was a punk rich kid who partied away a chance at success, but he clearly had a drug and alcohol addiction. I believe everyone deserves a second chance and if Manziel actually figured out how to control his impulses and manage his substance abuse issues, I wish him all the best. Obviously, I never want him to do anything of merit against the Panthers, but I won't hate him for trying to get back in the game.

The substance issues I can give him a pass on, the spoiled brat entitlement... eh, not so much. Ironically, the latter likely greatly contributed to the former.

Dude was magical in college and I was hoping to see what he could truly do in the NFL but I had no clue how bad his issues really were. Leave it to the Browns to draft him in the 1st round anyway. LOL!

I'd still love to see him get a real shot somewhere, I just hope it doesn't happen in N.O.

Manziel in the huge party town that is New Orleans? I can't foresee anything going wrong there...

Hell, he and Sean Payton would probably be snorting oxy off of hookers' asses in the locker room during halftimes.

Not that there's anything wrong with that......

If he was trying to comeback with the Chargers or Chiefs no one would give a poo.

Hes rumored to be talking to the Saints.

The Saints.

this is where the venom is coming from.  His past just makes it easy to smash on him.

I appreciate @saints4lifeagain's sense of humor. You gotta have one if you're going to lurk on a rival's board.

People take this poo to serious lol. I laughed. I mean, with Paytons history, the jokes kind of write themselves.

Paytons a good guy though. Had the chance to meet him breifly once. My neice was in the hospital having open heart surgery. We went out to get a shirt for everyone to sign for when she woke up. Happened upon Payton right down the street from Childrens. He stopped what he was doing to talk to us and sign the shirt. Spent a few good minutes asking about my neice. We appreciated it.

My feelings about Manziel have less to do with the fact that he's a jackass and a moron - and he legitimately is both - and more to do with the fact that he's not a very good football player.

His spoiled brat persona certainly had a lot to do with his failing in the NFL, but it wasn't the sole reason.

Despite the hype, he's just not that good.
