Some of you are forgetting 2012.

We ran a lot of read option and shotgun early in the year with little success. Chud had a come to jesus meeting with Rivera mid-season, and after that point we were a more traditional offense. During that period, Cam played very well taking snaps under center.

So just because we have run a lot of plays out of shotgun recently doesn't mean Cam is going to somehow regress or play poorly taking more snaps under center.

I'm torn on Barnett. Nothing about his measurables are exciting but his production is undeniable and the guy's motor is just non-stop. He's kind of Jared Allen-esque in both respects.

Really curious to see what he does at his pro day on the 31st.

An elite starting to pass rusher would be an instant impact yes with the resigning of our entire line from a year ago and adding Peppers. Would you take a DE at 8 that would not start?  If so you just forked out a lot of money on an expensive backup DL. You can get quality depth at that position later in the draft.  Having a pick at 8 with elite starting quality offensive weapons makes more sense

Pep old and nothing more than a rotational player now..

Mario is 30 and hasn't ever been a fulltime player..

And the fact you do so much subbing on the Dline a rookie would get enough snaps to have a impact..

Barnett lacks the length and pure explosiveness scouts would prefer, which could lead to his slipping a bit on draft day. 

I'm fine at 40. No way at 8.

I get what your saying but the DL is more concrete then our skill positions. That's why they resigned them all and let ginn and philly walk along with several other skilled players.  Plus you can only field 53 so how many DEs can we carry? Why we were okay with trading Ealy

He is the same size and weight Terrell Suggs is now..

He day one freshman year came in and dominated in the SEC.. And did it every year since.  BROKE Reggie White's record with a year to spare..

His tape(which is the most important part of scouting) show great technic, violent hands, vesatility in pass rush moves, strong against the run and a endless motor..

When he succeeds will you be here to admit you're wrong?

I'm sorry I disagree.. You can't be concrete when most of your players are near the end of there career.. While your skill position are just young and not developed (sans olsen and stew)..

Yes I will. I was wrong about Cam and I freely admit it. On the other hand, if Barnett is a bust will you admit it?
