Yep. I know the Jets have a history of bad picks at TE (Kyle Brady instead of Warren Sapp), but why would a rebuilding team ever take Howard over Fournette. Watson or Trubisky or a defensive player, but if it is a TE, no chance they do that with Fournette on the board.

I agree......don't think a new admin will pick a TE as their first pick

but it is the Jets

sorry......was thinking of Buffalo....nvm

I'd honestly be worried if we pick Fournette. Fournette isn't good from the shotgun, and he'd dead last compared to all RBs coming out in that category.

Cam only played 9.2% of snaps from under center. Tell me right now why that would be the case, and how he'd 'suddenly' be great from under center.

I'd rather get McCaffery than Fournette based on fit. McCaffery is the best from the shotgun from this class, and would compliment Cam well. I'd argue we can still wait a year to get a true powerback since next year's RB class is also very deep.

I don't want a RB or TE in the first, considering value and fits. TEs are dirt cheap on the FA market, and RBs are also losing vakue.

A DE though would be best. I'll make a thread on this soon, but considering most elite DEs are from picks 20 and above, valuewise DE is most likely the pick.

I even would argue Fournette is not the next AP. He's a damn good downhill runner, but not on AP's level.

He can't cut like AP at all. He will only thrive in the right scheme for him. I just don't see him as a Panther anymore when you consider our offense's strengths.

Yes, he's the next Bo Jackson

Jets are looking at Tru really hard right now.  This year is a wash.  Why waste a pick on an RB?  When you can get a QB and play him next year?

Yeah, let's pass on the 2nd best prospect in the Draft for a DE that we have no clue will be good or not.  Sound logic here.  Value wise, Thomas and Allen will be gone by our pick.  Fournette is the pick, and there's no contest.  He's a true powerback that can catch the football out of the backfield as well.  He would be perfect for our system.

Barnett.  Fight it all you wish people, but the stars are aligning, and it's not a bad thing.

Fournette if he's there would be hard to pass up.  I'm equally ecstatic with Fournette or Barnett, although the joy of the sunken hearts of the other 31 if we take Fournette would be glorious.

@nctarheel0619 You're banking on a guy coming back from an injury who had one of the lowest missed tackle rates and worst shotgun rate in college to do well in a system where we run center on 9.2% of our snaps.

By all means, guess we can try that. Who'd be the one forced to change their technique and style of play to compensate? Cam or Fournette? One of them has to regress.
