I can look at his game tape and tell you at any give time, he was always the best athlete on the field. I don't doubt his combine numbers are not as good as expected but I wouldn't get caught up in SPARQ numbers over game film.

Cook is going to be an elite back in this league

Like I told LG, he either isn't athletic or did not train hard for the combine. Agree though his tape is great, thatx a giant plus. But in order to cover up big issues, tape can only do so much.

Look at the numbers I just posted. You're demonstrably incorrect here

The context of my post was in rebuttal to a poster saying that Cook was a better option than McCaffrey so perhaps saying Cook was not productive was an overstatement. He was productive but not as productive as McCaffrey should have been what I said.

Before you come back with the numbers again let's add 1850 yards and  85 touches to McCaffrey's totals to account for his return yards so the total yards is now 7000.

But productivity is a function of utility as well as yards per carry. McCaffrey is more versatile to us than Cook. If we drafted either they wouldn't be taking carries from Stewart. It would be from Whitaker. The difference is McCaffrey is the much better receiver if you watched the combine and will instantly get penciled in at returner. The bigger faster stronger Wes Welker who can run reverses sweeps pitches screen passes and actually run the ball as a bonus. McCaffrey is much more likely to make an immediate impact. With his Stanford running back coach as our new wide receiver coach, imagine what they can do if we drafted him.

Cook was not that productive and has off field issues. McCaffrey lead the NCAA in all purpose yard and was only a junior. He is only going to get better. Stanford runs a combination of West coast, spread and a traditional running attack.  Go.look at field and watch how many yards McCaffrey gets after the catch and after first contact. Folks who don't like him haven't seen him play. It reminds of how many folks criticized Kuechly because he played for Boston college and folks didn't realize how talented he was.

LMAO Cook not productive, he broke records at FSU

Tyler Gaffney  2013 - 1709 yards 21 td

Stefan Taylor  2011/12 - 2860 yards 23 TD

Toby Gehart 2009 - 1871 yards 28 td

I take Mccaffrey stats with a grain of salt, he can't run up the middle to save his life and made a bunch of pac 12 defenders look dumb in space. Good for him, he's Reggie Bush.

Already answered this earlier. Cook was productive as a runner and less so as a receiver. McCaffrey is a returner and better receiver and runs the ball as well. McCaffrey had 1850 yards as a returner over Cook and if you watched them side by side at the combine, McCaffrey was the better athelte much better running routes and runs the whole route tree. He is the bigger and better Wes Welker and Regie Bush combined into one heck of a slot receiver and an opening day returner.  More that we can say about Cook who would be a backup and little else.

If you watch tape you would know Cook is the better player, he had more receiving yards and better  reception average this past season, is way more explosive can actually break tackles and you don't have to cater a specific offense for him.

McCaffrery is Wes Welker that's cute, Cook was getting compared to Marshall Faulk and Tiki barber. I would bet anything Cook ends up the better player.
