Yeah as long as they can play offense too.

Look, idk when you became a fan and if you take our interior Dline for granted, but there once was a time where there were two dopes Fua and Mclain who were our interior Dline.

watching the felt like I was getting raped up the ass with a football, because that's what was happening to us on the field. Right up the middle for 10 yards a pop.. If there's ever a position to be strong and deep at, its our Defense's butthole.

I admire your passion and enthusiasm as a fan..

I like being able to sleep at night knowing we are strong at that position.. Knowing we aren't going to get pounded helplessly right up the middle

The first words in this topic are "picks are made based on need"

they may need more then a QB, but please tell me how the 49'ers or Jets have bigger needs then QB? neither team has a starting quality QB on their roster, and it's the most important position on the team.

You also used the word "realistic"

Because it is more then realistic then people going bpa and not weighing teams need.

Heck even you can't defend your own argument, all you did was bring up realistic again. Point proven

Problems:

  • Jacksonville spending another top 5 pick on a QB
  • Mike Williams in the top 5
  • Malik Hooker not in the top 10

Other than those factors, it's realistic for the remainder of the draft.

Just because they are a big name doesn't mean they won't fall. But if someone has a better idea then QB for the Jags I'm willing to hear that, the change there is the jets would now go QB.

Picks are made based on need and who the current Head Coach is with their prior history taken into account.

1. Cleveland Browns - Needs - QB... who am I kidding, almost anything

Myles Garrett - DL - The Browns have 2 early picks in the 2017 NFL draft, and sit at 1 and 12, expect for them to go after the best player in the draft in Myles Garrett with the first pick, and hope for one of the QB's to fall to 12, I wouldn't count on it, but they have to hope so.

2. San Francisco 49'ers - QB, DB, DL.

Mitch Trubisky - QB - the 49'ers didnt have a QB on their roster a little over a week ago, and neither of the QB's they picked up give Kyle Shanahan that tingly feeling in his nether regions, expect the 49'ers to go QB early.

3. Chicago Bears - OT, LB, CB, DL

Solomon Thomas - DL - The only reason QB isnt their top need is because they decided to pay a crazy amount of money to that tall soulless ginger Mike Glennon, if there is one thing that John Fox loves more than predictable offenses its Defensive linemen. Bears get scared off Allen because of Shoulder concerns with a top 3 pick.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars - QB, OL, DL

Deshaun Watson - QB - Jacksonville has been one of the busiest teams in Free Agency this year, and the big question is how do they feel about their continuing to struggle to find a quality QB. Blake Bortles was a huge disappointment last year after being expected to take the next step, and the last HC paid the price. The question is do they replace him here, or try to build more support and try again this year.  I think the once interim HC Doug Marrone who saw the downfall of his predecessor first hand will try and go in a different direction than risk another year of disappointment.

5. Tennesse Titans - WR, DL, OL

Mike Williams - WR - Tennesse is looking to build more around their young QB, Mike Williams with a big body and good hands will be hard for them to pass up here.

6. New York Jets - QB, DL, LB, S.

Jamal Adams - S - What do you do when you dont have a answer at QB, and the top 2 options are already gone? you build your defense, Adams is the best safety available and goes to the Jets.

7, San Diego Los Angeles Chargers - S, CB, OT, WR

Marshon Lattimore - CB - This was a hard choice due to the relative unknown which is their new HC, but with the best CB in the draft still available the Chargers draft him here and fill a need.  ******* This is corrected from the original pick of Fournette, remaining picks have also been adjusted accordingly. the Fournette reasoning was based on the Chargers having the 26th Ranked rushing offense last year, but I forgot about Melvin Gordon and have since been informed of the error of my ways by teh huddle. -*****

8. Carolina Panthers -  SS, DE, OL, RB

Leonard Fournette - RB - And here is the pick where Panthers fans scream..... with joy!!! Fournette solidifies the Running game and helps the Cam and the offense to transfer into a more tradition offense.

9, Cincinnati Bengals - OT, WR, DL, LB

Jonathan Allen - DL - Drops here due to shoulder concerns, was a top 5 pick, still lands top 10.

10, Buffalo Bills - WR, CB, TE

O.J. Howard - TE - Buffalo really must do something to help out their QB, a nice safety blanket in a good pass catching TE can go a long way.

So thoughts?

yeah, I could see that.  We do like Fournette but will only take him if Solomon Thomas and Jamal Adams are gone by 8.

Hell, Gman might even consider Jonathan Allen and Derek Barnett ahead of Fournette at #8.

I said this in another thread but our worst case scenario is as follows

1- Garrett

2- Adams

3- Thomas

4- Fournette

5- Allen

6- Lattimore

7- Hooker

8 - We're left between Barnett, Howard, Williams, Davis, Ross. I think we take Howard here, while I won't be disappointed he's number 6 on my big board. (Garrett, Hooker, Adams, Thomas, Fournette all above him)

Good news is that any QB getting drafted helps us, pray that multiple do

And even worse scenario I just realized is if Tenn drafts Howard. Not out of the realm of possibility imo.

My bold prediction is that Jax is going to draft a QB. Not that they will, but they really should. Bortles is not good.

I think if Allen is there we will take a long hard look at him

That's my greatest fear, Dave can not say "no". I believe as of today, with Allen falling he will be there at 8th and Dave will turn in the card with his name on it.

This will get Gettleman fired because Allen is going to be a bust. Especially if you try making him play end in a 4-3, he might be ok at UT but will never live up to a top 10 pick. Rule one of the draft, DO NOT DRAFT BAMA DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OR RUNNING BACKS IN THE TOP 20, THEY ARE ALL OVERRATED
