Biggest impact day 1??. Howard vs Davis.

WOW!!

Honestly... I'd trade down and get Christian Mac in the first and let him play slot, rb #2 to stewart, and returner. Solves 3 holes and gives us another pick. Hopefully, we could grab Engram at 40. Use the two other picks on Obi and that Villanova DE.

IMHO Christian would solve the offensive short game, compliment Stewart and fill our returner needs.

Engram @ TE2  gives Cam another Safety blanket. His blocking is in question, but receiving wise dude has Pro Bowl potential.

Obi to groom behind Mike Adams at SS.

Villanova DE to groom behind and spell Pep....overwhelming D-Line.

That offense would be unstoppable... The D gets even crazier. Then again, I have endless combinations of prospects that would level us up.

All that being said, if I had to choose between OJ and Davis ...OJ with no regrets.

Howard vs Fournette would've been a much better topic. They seem to be the most sought offensive players at 8 here. Davis isn't talked about much from what I've seen and probably won't go top 10 or even 15

but to answer your question, Howard. Though as another poster mentioned we are a power run team and a punishing rb with speed and elusiveness would jump start this offense more than anything giving cam more time to throw. Play action would be deadly as well

I really don't care which one would make the biggest impact on day one.  I care which one would make the biggest impact over their entire length of time with us.

Cool thank you for adding nothing to this thread..

If Dave can turn our (2)2nd rounders into a first I'd be happy with Howard at 8 and Cook/ McCaffrey.

If there aren't any takers I'd go Fournette/Cook at 8 and the beast TE out of Miami. I'm sure he and Greg have met

I hope Dave does nothing like that at all...

Just stick with his picks..(maybe even adds more) and take advangte of this deep draft...

As we can see Dave is in win now mode. A bunch of rookies are of no use now. Two or three very talented ones who can contribute now are more helpful than picking up guys rounds 1-7 hoping they pan out. Heck, I'd trade the whole draft for two definite starters in round 1 but that's just me. It's go time

You can do both .. But thanks for being in the fan base Dikta.. You do realize there might be a season after this and we didn't sign a bunch of 3 and 4 year players..

I could honestly see your point if this wasn't a deep draft but it is.. You do that trading up poo in a draft where the talent is top heavy.. Not in a draft where everybody is saying you will get starting quality players in the 4th and 5th round..

I can see your point but we can load up on rookies next year when we tank on purpose again. This year we need impact players more than rookies because it's SuperBowl or bust with the way this roster is constructed. BTW born in Chicagoland and yes, Ditka is the man.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
