Christian McCaffrey

Shocker

This guy will most likely go to a late round playoff team. Or to one of the basement teams drafting in the top 5 of round 2.  Only way we pick him up is if he falls to the 2nd if management is extra extra high on him and we didn't get an RB in R1 they could theoretically pick him at 40 or maybe trade up a few spots in the top of the 2nd to get him.

I think he's a great player who simply doesn't fit our system. We have one of the most unimaginative OCs in the NFL and I have a lingering suspecion he'd just continue to be an idiot and run McCafrey 99 percent of the time on up the guts runs that Stew does with regularity. McCaffrey obvious doesn't have the raw power that Stewart uses to fight throw multiple defenders every play. But he does have incredible footwork and great burst/vision.

I'm still on the thinking that Dave jumps back into the first. It's very possible that he takes Howard and then jumps back up for McCaffrey.

Actually he could do that with a lot of players. Defensive end and then another tightend, safety and then Cam Robinson.

Who knows-- I just think Shula and McCaffrey are ingredients for disaster.

Colonel Klink had problems figuring out Percy Harven and he's light years smarter than Shula,...

I would be upset if we used a pick on him in the first 2 rounds. He will only fit a certain style of system. Could be great with Brady, or brees that could utilize his speed and quickness. But in a system like ours he would never work. Not the bell cow type. Reminds me of a Darren Sproles type player.

Tell me more about these perfect prospects with zero question marks...

There are many 3 down starters whose game translates better to the nfl.  Why would anyone think us drafting a 3rd down rb tweener at #8 overall is a good idea.  We never have thrown the ball to our.rb, we don't even utilize screens.   He's a good prospect but you don't draft him #8 overall.

My point was that there's no such thing as a perfect prospect. Ultimately none of these guys have ever played a down in the NFL and you're trying to project them to the pro level while also projecting how they'll react to becoming millionaires overnight. It's an imperfect science at best.

I agree that I wouldn't draft McCaffrey at #8.
