Panthers organization optimistic about Michael Oher

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers are "cautiously optimistic" about Michael Oher (concussion) continuing his career.

Oher has still not cleared the concussion protocol over six months removed from originally suffering the injury, but he has been working out at the stadium, suggesting he plans to make a comeback. If Oher is able to play, he will likely switch to right tackle with new signing Matt Kalil taking over on the left side.

I for one will be mighty ticked off if Oher starts at RT.

I don't care about his contract. I can foresee him being worse than Remmers on the right side. Daryl Williams needs to beat him out, and I 100% believe he's a far better starter than Remmers or Oher ever has been.

No way in hell can we roll the dice that this guy will be healthy enough to make it through the 2017 season at RT, let alone the foreseeable future.

Williams is the better RT especially in the Running game. Lets keep him as depth and swing tackle.

The only way I am buying this is if Michael hasn't taken the test in the last 6 months to see if he CAN pass.  I am not hearing that he is still failing or that he has failed multiple times.  I am just hearing he is still in the protocol.

Can someone clear this up for me?  Did he fail 6 months ago and hasn't taken a test to see if he has cleared or is he taking a test every week and continues to fail?
