So I just bought an Amazon fire stick

So Amazon fire sticks are on major backorder on Amazon.com so I purchased one on eBay and it came with some K app that has everything... what is that all about?  Seems weird?

You lucked out brotato chip.

kodi can do anything... legal... illegal...especially illegal.

installing kodi on a firetv is a piece of cake. Long ago, I digitized all of my DVDs and can stream them to my TV from my home network through kodi on my my firetv. Of course if you know where to look, you can use kodi' repositories to stream whatever you want. Kodi itself is not illegal, though.

Seems like it's a bunch of piracy stuff.  Looks like Kodi developers will try to file a lawsuit against these people.  Some say they will go after users by collecting their IPs...

I use kodi legally. It's a good tool. Sounds like they may have preloaded some of the pirate repositories? A bare version of kodi doesn't have any of that. Go into settings-applications and delete it if it makes you uncomfortable.

If they've loaded obviously pirate stuff on it, then it might not be safe.

Kodi has replaced my cable sub. I stream errthing. r/addons4kodi is a good start.

Kodi won't go after users.  They'll go after whomever is selling it.

They are mostly going after them because they have ruined Kodi's image, being taken off app stores because it's called piracy, etc.
