9) Another suspect offseason in Charlotte

While we're on the subject of overpaid tackles ... Matt Kalil signing a five-year, $55 million deal with the Panthers?!?! This is a guy who played two games last year due to a hip injury. This is a former No. 4 overall pick who was relatively good -- but definitely not a rock -- at left tackle for the Vikings. And Carolina just handed him a whopping $25 million guaranteed?!?! That's beyond comprehension. And sanity.

And how about Carolina's signing of Julius Peppers? What year is this? And another reunion on defense, with Captain Munnerlyn? Wasn't this the guy who trashed the team after leaving it the first time?

After Carolina fouled up the Josh Norman situation last year, it's another bizarre offseason for GM Dave Gettleman.

Ron Rivera has been the coach in Carolina for six years, finishing above .500 just twice. Are the great Panthers fans heading for another rough campaign in 2017? The way this offseason has started is less than inspiring.

People need to realize these people aren't paid to be accurate or be legitimate evaluators

these guys are paid to spark a reaction or conversation, get clicks or views... Essentially make money for whatever network

and look! It worked! And that's what Adam cares about, and he's good at pissing people off.

don't be so gulable damn it!

often times these guys are paid to act like short sighted reactionaries to piss people off and get people talking

95% of panther fans love this offseason.

they will take advantage of people who fall into the illusion that they are "experts" and that they know what they are talking about. Its an industry people. Like everyother scam dumb asses fall for.

Similar things were being said before our 2015 campaign. And sad how reporters will bring up the 2/6 winning season point without mentioning that we still won our division one of those losing seasons AND won a playoff game.

Does he not know Peppers is still a beast? Does he not know that Munnerlyn is a productive slot corner so who gives a fug if he was talking trash when we played him? Talent > him trash talking when he was on a different team. Does he not know that left tackles just make a lot of money in this league and that is just the nature of the beast? Smh.

Jared from Subway lookin ass.

    • Qbs aren't defined by physical abilities. Brady, Brees, Manning, Montana, Warner,.....doesn't seem to correlate.

    • If we are going to spend the money anyway, maybe the signing is not as bad as it seems.  Mays outperformed Corbett (before his injury and if you go back to last year, Corbett has been below average) and then Christensen took the job and Mays quickly took it from him and never looked back.  He could use improvement reaching to the next level (LBs) but picking up stunts and blitzes---he was surprisingly good.  Run blocking needs some work, but he is 25.  Corbett, in my view, should be G/C depth and if Mays steps back, he is there.  Mays should start because this team is building for the future and 30 year old players are not building blocks.  We shall see.  That is how I think about it, but there are many factors we do not know. Having said that, I like what Zavala is doing, and I do not want to bring in someone who would take opportunities away from him.  Zavala was really good at RG down the stretch, and in limited duty, was awesome. In fact, we have a guard from the PS who played briefly and did well, but he only played a few plays.  He is 25 and I recall that fans of his former team were upset when we signed him.   Maybe as the backup center only (Corbett).  You need 2 centers to run practices efficiently.  I cannot say enough about the OL coaches on this staff.  What they have done is overshadowed by the Lewis / Hunt signing.  Mays, Ekwonu, Zavala--impressive growth.
