So in the event of an injury over a substantial amount of time you're ok with Jones, or Dean Marlowe who's been on IR the last two seasons, or counting on a rookie...

I'd rather keep the player, and draft a rookie, the reason the vets were signed this off-season was so we don't have to lean on a rookie player at any position.

You don't trade quality depth for an unknown. Again the only reason we could trade Ealy was because the depth is more than established already at DE.

And like Dave has said in the past, this team is good at so many positions that it is hard for rookies to make the final 53. Look at the drafted rookies we've placed on the PS that last couple of years, and that was when we had 5-6 draft picks.

We're slated to have 8 this year, this is a hard team to make for guys drafted late.

Count how many players we've let walk..  starters..  big play potential...  Got nothing and still managed to get by.

I get what you're saying but really, we'll do fine without him. And the kicker?  We get draft picks....

We could take what we get for him and get Calvin Pryor, use the draft or several other means before September.  It'd be surreal if we got anything for him.

Tre was a 4th...with 2 years of NFL acclimation, having had starter experience and super bowl experience at only 24-25 years of age, I bet it's going to take a 3rd to get him from us, or a sizeable move up in the draft....especially if it's Buffalo, and McDermott wants him for his knowledge of the D scheme. He will probably start there.
