How to fix it (Quarterback)

Mr. Scot

From where?

(and no, Garcia is not an option; that's been discussed to death)

It would have been nice to at least got someone that has potential like Tavaris or Thigpen. But I agree Garcia isn't the same QB he once was and even if he was he doesn't fit the system.

My nickname for Jake after the first Super Bowl was "Choke Delhomme". I was right then, and right now.

I have never in my life seen such a stupid comment. Brian, you seriously don't deserve to type on a keyboard. Jake played awesome in the SB...how did he choke?

And for you who are saying WR is not an issue, you are on crack. Jake may be an issue, I agree, but we have the WORST WR CORE (all together, Smith is still good) in the league. As a group, they smell like Hollis Thomas' draws after a game.

I don't buy into Jackson or Thigpen either, honestly.

Now the Titans just dropped one in Patrick Ramsey that I'd honestly much rather have had as a backup than A J Feeley (system-wise) but I don't expect a change at this point.

It"s just sad to realize that the FO made the worst decision of the decade. Giving a man a 3 year 20 mil guaranteed contract to a man that had only 12 tds the year before with an abysmal 5 turnover performance. Then we decide to give a first round pick to move up in the second round for a mediocre de project really gets under my skin. With how we are doing that 1st round pick could have atleast gotten us a QB of the future to groom. I think it is going to be a long 3 years for us due to the fact that after Delhomme is basically relieved of his duties we will be scrambling for a top tier QB. I think the days of mediocre game managing Qbs are over; we need to find, and I know it wont be easy, our franchise QB of the future. The days of mediocrity are at hand!

It's funny how many decisions the team has made that I can say I partially agree with:

"Extend Delhomme? For cap relief and transitional reasons, okay. Wait, for how long, and how much? Ummmmmm..." :sosp:

"Franchise Peppers? Absolutely. There's no way you can let a guy that talented just walk away for nothing. Now as soon as he signs his tender, work out the best trade offer you can and... Wait, you signed him because you want to keep him...at all costs? Ummmmmm..." :(

Oy.

well for the part of delhomme I disagree...They could have easily done that without giving him so much guranteed money...or restructure his contract..

Now franchising peppers I think back when it happened it was a good idea...I just hope we don't come to find out that all that money we spent on peppers turns out to be a devastating blow to us in the future...He really needs to step up his game and show some heart.

Now if I see that he has a 2.5 sack performance again and we Re- franchise him for 24 mil a year I will probably throw up and have diarrhea at the same time!

An idea on how to fix the QB position other than benching Jake is to have him try this:

Walk to the line, say the words "Down, Set, Hut,

Take the snap from the Center

Turn to his right

Hand the ball off to DeAngelo and watch the rest of the play.

Repeat

remember when we had Henning and we were in ATL and we had Chris Weinke at QB??...First time the wildcat was unveiled...well we should do that from now on...
